Awful episode.

honeyrider · 29/04/2026 21:54

I think they've dragged out all the negative things that could happen with this cancer story for too long and it may have a negative impact on men who'll develop this type of cancer.

RaraRachael · 29/04/2026 22:17

Yet again not a happy story to be had anywhere.

AnnieLummox · 29/04/2026 22:33

I think they’re going in a really odd direction with Cain and Moira since her release. Surely we could see them pulling together for a while?

JaneJeffer · 29/04/2026 20:34

Not watching because of the football for which I am truly grateful today! Cain needs to remember that having perfectly working tackle didn’t stop Moira from straying before.

And that's exactly what he brought up! I'm surprised Moira hasn't murdered him by now and gone back to prison for some peace and quiet.

PrincessScarlett · 29/04/2026 22:48

The obvious despair on Jeff's face is nothing to do with Cain's cancer and all to do with the god awful scripts he's having to work with.

JaneJeffer · 29/04/2026 23:04

I don’t understand why every story has the same conversations repeated over and over again while other characters are nowhere to be seen for months on end and then appear only to say a couple of lines before they disappear again. It’s so annoying to watch.

Someone needs to give him a sex education lesson

strugglingwithlife · 30/04/2026 08:23

Last night's was dire. I'm getting really bored with it at the moment

JaneJeffer · 30/04/2026 11:59

I ended up watching it and yes it was terrible. Some of Moira’s lines sounded like she was reading them off a pamphlet. I just feel like Natalie is tired of her storylines and that’s coming across on screen.

ilovebrie8 · 30/04/2026 15:44

That was dreadful last night!
They need new writers that was embarrassing to watch.

RaraRachael · 30/04/2026 15:47

I feel sorry for the actors having to perform these ridiculous lines and stories.

Jitterybugs2 · 30/04/2026 16:32

I was half expecting Cain and Moira to go for a roll in the hay at the end of the episode and emerge with flushed cheeks and all happy tonight .

Absolutely. There are so many characters who seem devoid of purpose, or who just disappear without explanation.

Jai and Kerry have fallen victim to the old scriptwriters’ fallback of “If you’ve got two characters with no obvious purpose, make them a couple and hope for the best”. Bob feels like a well-paid extra, despite being drawn into the Ray and Celia story do a bit - and I know he’s never been a great dad, but surely even he would have noticed that his daughter’s three-month cruise has now lasted for over a year? Jimmy and Nicola, both of whom I really like, are in danger of the same
fate. What do Charles and Claudette do, if anything? Does Vanessa have a purpose other than getting pissed and interfering in other people’s storylines lives, or being the only working vet while Paddy and Rhona are off doing something more interesting? Billy, Ryan and Noah are all little more than moving wallpaper while all the good stories for men under 40 go to Robron, Mackenzie and Ross.

I honestly think both Emmerdale and Corrie would benefit from a 90s style shake-up. Reduce the casts, stop shoehorning in locations nobody cares about and ignoring others, and find a balance between endless storylines and ones that come and go so quickly you barely noticed they happened.

RaraRachael · 30/04/2026 17:19

@AnnieLummox you've just summed it up perfectly.

Jitterybugs2 · 30/04/2026 20:10

Hopefully Dawn is beginning to see sense.

JewelleryCat · 30/04/2026 20:12

I think Joe is trying to be like Chris but failing miserably. At least Chris was believable

RaraRachael · 30/04/2026 20:15

I'm sick and tired of Joe shitting all over everybody and getting away with it.

Jitterybugs2 · 30/04/2026 20:16

Oh please not a relationship with Todd and Vanessa. A double dose of nausea

JewelleryCat · 30/04/2026 20:22

At least Dawn is now seeing Joe for what he’s like. Took long enough

Greentableleg · 30/04/2026 20:22

At last Dawn!

RaraRachael · 30/04/2026 20:24

FFS Dawn. Bring him down.

JadeSeahorse · 30/04/2026 20:29

Better episode tonight, particularly the ending.

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2026 20:34

Oooohhh this is getting interesting. I am so looking forward to Joe's downfall 😀😀

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2026 20:36

Dawn can redeem herself by bringing Joe down.
