Not much has changed since the start of the last thread - only been about 4 weeks since the last one was started.. So...... Following on from the last thread...

Carl hasn't been in it much this past few weeks, but still, no-one seems to be able to take him down. He's done so many bad things!

Mal is still dreadful.... and has just been beaten up by Kit (and tried to blame Dev,) but I think his game is up now Daniel heard him laying into Bernie (who he's been stalking!) Hopefully the stalking story is over, and Mal can leave!

Ma Driscoll was horrendous - but she is less horrendous I think. (Growing on me a bit.) Grin Kit is still fit. Ronnie and Kevin's new double act hasn't advanced much 😆 (I was enjoying their bad cop/bad cop routine too.) Jim McDonald died recently, and it emerges that Ma Driscoll had a bit of a thing with him many years ago, when she had her son Ben! 👀

Debbie is still in prison. Not seeing much of her at the moment. Hopefully we see more of her soon!

Hope is still cheeky as ever. Grin

Big story at the moment is Todd and Theo have just got married. They split up for a few weeks after Todd had just had enough of him, but Theo concocted a plan to make Todd miss a race he had been training for, and got back into Todd's head (and bed!) Then Theo railroaded Todd into a 'surprise' wedding, as he hadn't cancelled the booking at the Registry Office. Theo is really cruel and abusive to Todd, and poor Todd is just so beaten down by it all. Hopefully this storyline comes to a close too, because it's horrible watching Todd suffer, and also frustrating!

We also have Shona's sister Jodie popping up every 5 minutes, just working in the cafe, and offering her babysitting, and giving long lingering looks to David. And Tyrone who had been hit by a car that Carl was driving seems to be walking all of a sudden after spending the last few months in a wheelchair. Oh, and a baby has been dropped off at Carla and Lisa's home by a woman claiming it's the baby of the prison guard Carla's brother Rob was sleeping with. They just took her and are looking after her now - obviously. 😆

Mucky pervy Megan Trainer has been arrested for having a 'relationship' with one of her pupils, (Will Driscoll,) but Will is denying anything happened, so will they be able to do anything? Toyah, Eva, and Leanne have joined forces to try and bring her down. Especially as she has been blackmailing and bullying young Sam - Nick's son - as he can see her for what she is!

Phew.......

Sorry if I have left anything out!!!!!!! 😬

Todd is winding me up now. So many opportunities to leave and all his friends have stood by him. He probably thinks that now George may lose the business he won’t have much choice about Belfast, but he does. He could find another job.

I think the reality is that the complex dynamics of abusive relationships are very hard to portray on screen and impossible in a soap where so many other ridiculous things happen

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2026 08:30

I haven't watched the last two episodes so I have 3 to watch today. I don't think I can bear over an hour of Corrie, what a sad state of affairs, I would have welcome that years ago. Although I could do a lot of fast forwarding with Jodie and Mal and Sam around!

FeltCarrot · 10/04/2026 09:00

When the Debster goes I will stop watching.

Scottsquare · 10/04/2026 09:03

There are quite a few spoilers floating around for next week. I’d say be careful if you’re on Facebook and TikTok and you definitely don’t want to know anything. They are getting harder to miss these days.

Or when they continuously say “don’t be daft” grinds my gears !

Oh heck, I say that all the time!

eggandonion · 10/04/2026 09:36

@Gingercar Im going to do it every time I hand my husband a cup of tea. 'Don't be daft it's on the house '. 'More tea vicar,it's on the house '
If they keep giving free drinks they will go bankrupt. And Jenny and Daisy could return.
Jodie and her fake reviews is very like Daisy.

I do agree. I feel the same about Todd. I didn't want to say though, as I don't know what it's like for people who are being abused and isolated from their family and friends like this, maybe they try and convince themselves things will change? Maybe they're not seeing what other see?

But surely to goodness Todd knows. He has left Theo at least once - maybe twice, and keeps going back to him. It's infuriating. I do agree with the poster @FrankieMcGrath who said Theo is scary. He is. He is terrifying. Very good acting IMO.

Yes it’s a very accurate portrayal. He is trauma bonded to Theo. Theo is two people, and Todd will be madly in love with Good Theo, and be terrified of Bad Theo. Every time Theo is an arse, he will convince himself that it won’t happen again and he’ll have ‘Good Theo’ all the time. Victims minimise their abuse because they don’t want it to be real, it’s too scary to face the truth.

I think Gareth Pierce is displaying this really well!

Put the TV on as background while washing some dishes around 07:45 today and there was a "coming next week on Emmerdale "ad"" - thanks ITV, I don't want to see it, even if it is vague.

Edited

I agree, Gareth Pierce is doing a great job with what he's being given, which I still think has not enough depth.

People in such situations are blinded by their hope that their abuser's 'nice' side, that they are shown from time to time, to keep them hooked (but also to punish), will shine through in the end. But it won't, because it's not real.

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2026 13:12

I've actually looked for spoilers (to see if I want to bother to watch next week) and can't find any😆

Gingercar · 10/04/2026 13:39

Magazines in the supermarket had Corrie spoilers plastered all over them too, so beware there too. If we’ve had to wait this long for the “big episode” I don’t want to find out what happened the week before!

TipsyPeachSnake · 10/04/2026 14:29

SabreIsMyFave · 09/04/2026 22:45

This is bugging me too. 😆 As I said, I have NEVER been given a drink on the house! In any pub! I don't think I have seen The Driscolls actually take any money off anyone since they've been at The Rovers to be honest. 😬

There are two pubs my partner frequents where he often gets first drink on the house if manager is serving. I’ve been there when it’s happened.

He’s not life long friends with them or anything, just that he has done jobs / favours for them in the past. I had one manager tell me how my partner had saved him hundreds of pounds one time by helping him draft some complaint letter or other. I tuned out a bit when he was talking to me lol.

Maybe it’s just men that get free drinks.

I’m probably in the minority here but I don’t mind spoilers, I know what I have to look forward to then.

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2026 15:29

I agree I don't mind spoilers. I just found some for next week and it sounds like it'll be worth watching.

A bit of goodwill 'on the house' makes sense although they do overdo it. The residents spend a lot of time and money in there, and half of them are related. I have never been offered a drink on the house but I don't have a local I go to three times a week!

eggandonion · 10/04/2026 15:48

I have a loyalty card for a local cafe. It's frightening how often I get a free coffee. On the house!
I can cope with spoilers but I love this thread to refer to if I miss something!

Clawdy · 10/04/2026 16:07

I think I must be the only person who's not that keen on Debbie. 😮

JellyBeanSpring25 · 10/04/2026 16:10

Surely George can’t lose the business? What other job could he do?

Mind you, there seems to be plenty of work for whoever walks in off street - take your pick:

Machinist at factory, barista at Roy’s, pulling pints at Rovers, sweetie counter at Kabin, mind the shop for Dev or even at the infamous Freshco’s (we only saw inside there when Curly Watts was manager).

Okay, you all started it - I don't mind Eva and quite like her laugh.

There, I've done it, phew.

No all that gurning and face pulling irritates me with Debbie
I love Sam 😍

SabreIsMyFave · 10/04/2026 17:18

I didn't like Sam at all, and thought the actor was lame and only got the role because nepotism, but he has actually been good just recently and is growing on me. I do like Debbie, and as for Eva, I quite like her too now (though I wasn't too keen before.) I don't like her laugh though! 😬

Ben is quite fit. 👀

Yes I noticed the front page on a magazine today when shopping. Spoilers don't bother me much though.
Theo is an actorI I haven't seen before his current role and am trying to imagine him playing a genuine nice guy. He's so convincing as the Jekyll and Hyde he plays. He only needs to look at Todd and before he utters a word he's got Todd shaking and scared. 😠

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2026 17:47

@Myrealnameisbetty I knew the Theo actor because he's police officer Harrison Burns in The Archers. He is VERY dull in that!
