Enter The Walsh Sisters, which has been adapted from several of Marian Keyes' beloved novels and introduces us to the dysfunctional but deeply loveable Walsh family.

Featuring five sisters, a devout mother and a bemused father, every family will find something to relate to in the chaos that surrounds them.

Billed as a "comedy about serious things — a pacy, brutally honest and uncompromisingly funny exposé of the realities of being an Irish sister", we meet the five sisters as they’re drifting through adulthood in Dublin and supporting each other as they cope with heartbreak, grief, addiction and parenthood.

And if it's as good as Marian's books, it's going to be a truly outstanding piece of TV.

The six-part series is part based on two of Marian Keyes’ novels, Rachel’s Holiday and Anybody Out There and introduces us to a group of five loveable but chaotic sisters living in Dublin - Anna (Louisa Harland), Rachel (Caroline Menton), Maggie (Stefanie Preissner), Claire (Danielle Galligan) and Helen (Máiréad Tyers) – as they navigate the peaks and troughs of their late 20s and 30s.

It's a sisterhood full of in-jokes, hand-me-down resentments and more than a few old wounds.

But their DNA, history and shared love of power ballads keep the Walsh sisters together in the face of heartbreak, grief, addiction and parenthood.

Im two minutes in and mammy Walsh is in the wrong dressing gown! She has some kind of chic cotton printed thing. Oh no no no all wrong. A mammy dressing gown is fluffy, pastel and sensible, not chic and I'll not hear otherwise.

I know I am choosing to watch it, I know.

Agree that Rachel in The Cloisters is spot on. Luke is growing on me.

i think Rachel in cloisters was exactly as in my head. And I really liked Luke. I think they cast him right actually.

I thought the therapy session with Luke was more brutal in the books. But it was very sad. Maybe they should have just focussed on Rachel's Holiday for this series as I'm enjoying Rachel's story.

Urgh id come out of those therapy sessions needing some kind of contraband that's for sure! I would be just a crying heap with more issues after than I came in with

The Duffy genes are good handsome lad genes, but I spent my school years fancying the OG Duffy so I'll take a pass on this Luke and maintain my stance that he is not the ridiest man in Eire (and that mammy Walsh is just wrong)

I was listening to the accompanying podcast while trying to sleep last night. Jay's voice is EXACTLY the same as Keith's.

I just want one scene where Luke is in the car when a boyzone song comes on, and he sings along for a line to two. That's all I want.

.....And Mammy Walsh to be more mammyish (not sure if I've mentioned that in the last 5 seconds or so)

By the time my brain registered who it was, she was gone.

I watched episode 1 and I don't know if I can persevere. What a disappointment. If they just wanted a comedy drama about a family of girls, Bad Sisters is amazing!

I couldn’t get past three episodes of bad sisters. Quite frankly I thought the bloke had a going point about each of the sisters being a twat 🤷‍♀️
