I'm sure Iga is wishing she had got to Greg first, GMP.

Fizzywinegum · 05/04/2026 08:03

Ha ha good luck GMP! Thought it was April 1 for a minute there GrinGrin

Casper and Tomas Short Shorts Machac are playing double in Monte Carlo.

Weather looks a lot nicer than here- it's freezing.

Unfortunately, they are playing Sinner/ Bergs, so their partnership may be short lived, as they are now a set down.

Casper's bright yellow kit, looks a bit better against the orange clay than it did on the hard courts Grin.

Raahh · 05/04/2026 11:07

Bit of a come back in the second set.

I tured over to another channel, showing a repeat of a Pegula match- the difference between the bright courts in MC and the horrible grey hard courts in Charleston is huge.

Raahh · 05/04/2026 11:42

Jannik and Zizou won in the end. Be interesting to see if Jannik will stick with the doubles to the end of the week. So many singles players drop out of the doubles when they are getting closer to the singles final.

kazzaD66 · 05/04/2026 11:57

I didn't realise MC had already started, given other tournaments have yet to finish Confused

Raahh · 05/04/2026 12:17

It does seem odd- I suppose at least some of the tournaments still in play are nearby -ish- (Morroco)- not so much Houston.

JaneJeffer · 05/04/2026 12:46

Merida lost the first set so I guess he’s going to win the championship

How many times can a commentator say getting away with it in one match?

TennisTV have finally sorted out my issue, just in time for Monte Carlo Smile

Saw a bit of Ruuhac vs Ziznnik, they all seemed to be having fun at least.

JaneJeffer · 05/04/2026 13:10

That’s good news Ice

Merida looks like his legs are going to give way.

Raahh · 05/04/2026 14:02

Looks like Merida may be running out of steam.

Or his dashboard is flashing, as the commentators keep saying.

JaneJeffer · 05/04/2026 14:08

Wish the commentators would run out of steam

Irritating, aren't they? They are not on a par with Robbie.

Raahh · 05/04/2026 14:26

Well done to Navone- Merida's time will come(he's just collapsed in his seat).

Raahh · 05/04/2026 14:29

I hope Merida is not too downcast, he did really well,
Looking very positive for Team Spain, with Landaluce, Merida, Jodar.

Raahh · 05/04/2026 17:01

I saw Jodar (not named after Rafa) won his final- so not a bad day for the Spaniards.

JaneJeffer · 05/04/2026 17:03

Well done Navone. Great match.

servers were down so I am posting belatedly!

Well done to him. Trungelitti is a cool dude Grin

kazzaD66 · 05/04/2026 18:55

DS has just said that Trungelitti was approached by match fixers a couple of years ago, refused to play ball and reported Argentinian players that were match fixing, then got ostracised for doing so!! So well done him. I think he's also the oldest debutante in the top 100 tomorrow.
Good to see Monfils win earlier. Stan playing tomorrow. Goffin lost in qualifying earlier but had a little goodbye.
And Liam Broady won his first Challenger since 2019(???) So well done him!

kazzaD66 · 05/04/2026 18:58

Also, I see Joe Salisbury is playing tomorrow with Cabral. It would have been great if he played with Neal again but good to see him back. Hope he's well and raring to go!

Raahh · 05/04/2026 19:10

Well done Liam!

It is good that Joe is playing again. Cabral is a solid player, so I hope they can get some decent results. I feel like Joe was the one who took the fall for failing to win with Neal last year.

Selfishly I keep hoping Neal doesn't win anything else with Christian - which I know is pettyBlushGrin
