My first thought.

Well actually it was my second thought. First was 'Sly and the Family Stone'

Down the lavvie was the best place for John. He didn't deserve anything better.

People will still be going to Portugal to visit Diane when she's 110.

There was a stone with Emmerdale Farm visible when the camera zoomed out

Jitterybugs2 · 12/02/2026 22:39

I’m looking forward to all the men in the bar saying from now on “back in a minute, just going to the John”

Thank you 🙂

I still didn’t see it so maybe I do need Specsavers 😆

CherryogDog · 13/02/2026 09:47

I need a map to help me make sense of the stone, featuring: (from memory, maybe I'm wrong)
Original Emmerdale farmhouse, which had subsidence.
2nd farmhouse, sold to mad Ray, never seen again.
Current 3rd farmhouse, AKA Wiley's, taken over by Andy.
Robert lived in 1 and 2, was never interested in farming, unlike Andy.
So where was the stone that Robert touched every day? Or did they just heave it whenever they moved?
Also, Butler's/Wiley's was leased from Home Farm estates, did Moira buy it?

JaneJeffer · 13/02/2026 11:31

Wiley’s is a separate farm to Butler’s. It originally belonged to Emily’s dad. The last we heard was that Nate was farming on it before he returned to work at Butler’s. Mad Emma and James moved in there previously but they weren’t there long before Emma killed him.

After Emmerdale was demolished the Sugdens moved into Hawthorn Cottage which had been on Jameson’s Farm. It was demolished for the quarry in 1977. Then they moved to Melby Farm until Ray bought it in 2002. Andy moved to Butler’s in 2003.

How that stone ended up there is anyone’s guess Grin

JaneJeffer · 13/02/2026 11:36

I guess though that if it’s Annie’s Field it must have been part of the original Emmerdale farm at some stage.

PrincessScarlett · 13/02/2026 14:31

Loved Tracey flushing John's ashes down the toilet and her giving Victoria what for. Would have been even better if Robert had pissed on the ashes as well 🤣

Agree that was a shit exit for Victoria. She's left under a cloud and became a selfish person leaving Moira to rot in prison. And Aaron was right that noone ever speaks up for Robert. Victoria choosing John over Robert is unforgivable.

JaneJeffer · 13/02/2026 14:35

🤣 @PrincessScarlett

Why the hell did Vic say what’s Frankie going to think when she finds out about this when she’s older? John killed her father! I’m sure she’ll say well done mum.

TellingBone · 13/02/2026 14:58

I'm far from a sentimental type so I was surprised to feel slightly heartened by the appearance of that old stone. My vague hope is that it foreshadows a return to the original premise and values of the programme. Seems odd to feature it if not.

It must really be clear to all soap producers that most viewers detest these overlong convoluted and far-fetched storylines. Although I recall someone here [was it @JaneJeffer ?] saying they'd seen elsewhere an indication that this style of filming was set to continue.

PrincessScarlett · 13/02/2026 14:58

Quite @JaneJeffer Tracey should have replied with what will Harry think when he finds out his mum killed his uncle and shafted Moira. Touche.

PrincessScarlett · 13/02/2026 15:00

I'm also hoping that Robert will be the one to bring back Emmerdale of old with his little epiphany in the field @TellingBone

RaraRachael · 13/02/2026 15:41

I thought I'd read that the writers were scaling back on the depressing and nasty storylines as that wasn't what viewers wanted to watch.

Having seen a spoiler for an upcoming story, that was obviously a crock of shit.
