Welcome to Thread 9 of Traitors 2026.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

As a traitor you have an advantage so, yes Rachel is playing a good game but she has that huge advantage. It’s been helped by the fact Stephen is loyally beside her (so she’d better not throw him under the bus at the end!) and the faithfuls are not working as a team. Surely someone would pick up on the fact that her FBI training is leading her to the wrong conclusions all the time! I wish I could see what she would have been like as a faithful, I think she’d have been good.

Oh and it helps if Matthew is her brother as he’s the most switched on faithful and must surely be suspicious of her!

True. I guess they’re the only ones who have work to do aren’t they so it’s maybe always going to appear to be the traitors putting in the most effort.

The seer was presumably done last time to reduce that advantage but it went too far. Wonder if they’ll be a different twist next week which might help the faithful have any chance of winning. I don’t think they have much chance at all at the moment as the traitors are getting all the advantage (e.g. now the dagger).

Does Matthew still think he’s going to get recruited?! Surely he’s starting to doubt that now 🤣

Mimosa3andmore · 17/01/2026 11:37

I think they should give the dagger to Roxy as she's in the traitor's pockets and gently lay the foundation to banish Matt at the roundtable. James and Jade would also likely vote for him. Then they can murder Roxy and that would cause all kinds of chaos at breakfast the next morning.

I think the twists in this series have been designed to put the traitors on the back foot and to unsettled them - the ST, questions in the Church, box game and dagger have all been given to them as surprises which they haven't particularly liked.

I wouldn't criticise Jade for not accepting a hug from Matt - if I was upset I wouldn't want a cuddle from someone that's virtually a stranger, especially someone that had just tried to vote me out with no good reason. She's been defensive but not aggressive at round tables which is fair enough in the context of the game.

I'm convinced there's some sort of memory wipe portal at the front door - none of them seem to remember suspicions from one day to the next.

ZappyDays · 17/01/2026 11:37

Well he might still think he’s in with a chance as they killed Jessie at the first opportunity…

Giddykiddy · 17/01/2026 11:49

I'm on team Rachel and Stephen- they have the strongest traitor partnership i've seen and I hope they go to the end was Faraz and then vote him off. Stephen has gone from strength to strength and Rachel is so cool under pressure.
If there is another recruitment Matt is the obvious choice as he's likely to be banished.
Felt sorry for Jade

Beachtastic · 17/01/2026 11:56

Bouledeneige · 17/01/2026 10:47

I’m not sure I see the facial likeness between Matty and Rachel. I speculated James and Jessie were siblings and Jack and Jade in the basis of their eyes. But maybe that faithful type random thinking! And because they are next to each other on the photo wall and have matchy initials!

I think as long as contestants have eyes and hair, we will be finding secret links between them 🤣

Won't it be a giveaway if the dagger goes to someone who is in their pockets? It's a clue for the others, if they choose to read it that way.

PinkPanther57 · 17/01/2026 12:15

Doesn’t it make sense for Rachel to have it (?) Altruistically she can help save Stephen if needs be for the double win (?)

CarminaBiryani · 17/01/2026 12:17

cariadlet · 16/01/2026 20:45

Stephen was lucky. I thought they'd be a huge discussion about Jessie's suspicions and there would be some votes for him.

I think Jessie going did throw them, poor Ellie was sad and not on her game. Annoyingly Stephen did successfully thow a cat among the chickens. Although I also want him to win, didn't want Jessie to go!

I think Rachel has used the FBI training on herself. Not revealing in her body language, befriending etc. Not sure why they don't think that's a possibility.

That assumes a level of logical thinking that the remaining Faithfuls haven't shown so far.

CarminaBiryani · 17/01/2026 12:26

One thing I never understand is they are always trying to catch a traitor but surely it would make sense to think of the traitors as a team, if there are two of them, who does it point to as a likely pair.

MrsLeonFarrell · 17/01/2026 12:31

Rachel and Stephen have played a really good game in the face of threats that would have seen off other traitors. Remember in series 2 one traitor gave themself away when they were asked 'Are you a traitor?' at breakfast!

The faithful haven't really got it together in terms of traitor hunting but i think that hasn't been helped by tasks that seemed designed to fragment any faithful unity and which pitched them against each other more than is usual. The traitors have had a more difficult time as well but have made it through because they did decide to work as a team.

I hope Matthew gets murdered because his face will be hilarious.

I'd like to see Rachel and Stephen stay true to their bargain at least.

As long as Matthew doesn't win though.

Trixibell1234 · 17/01/2026 12:35

I don’t think Matt and Rachel are related. Sounds like he had a tough childhood and she’s very close to her mum. Unless they’ve done some hug bridge-building, to put them in together would be really hard for them both in terms of the family politics.

I don’t think they’ll give the dagger to Matt, or recruit him. Once he sees his ‘deal’ has fallen through, will be start being more proactive?

Hedjwitch · 17/01/2026 12:36

Team Stephen all.the way here. His clothes, his accent, his facial expressions and his sweet nature have completely won me over. He's smart too.
Asking if the Zombie in the grave was alright, was so funny.

helplessbanana · 17/01/2026 12:47

CharlotteRumpling · 16/01/2026 21:57

Jade has done absolutely nothing except show off her posh knitwear collection!
I understand why she might be guarded given her background, but she's still done nothing.

To be honest, nobody has trusted her from the word go, so what would be the point in her doing much? Everything she said or did would be twisted against her. She's been on the defensive the entire time.

FourNaanJeremy · 17/01/2026 12:52

I’m at the point now that I would be happy if Rachel and/or Stephen did win (even though I’m not a fan Rachel). I feel they have earned it and played the game well.

If Roxy, Jack, Faraaz or Matt win I will be annoyed.
Jack and Faraaz have seemingly coasted through the game contributing fuck all to try to catch traitors, and Roxy and Matt are both so irritating that I don’t want them to win out of spite 😅

James has at least tried and as Jade has been quite unfairly targeted from day 1, she has done well just to stay in the game.

I'm just taking it for what it is
A bit of fun nonsense telly brightening the dullest month of the year.
I honestly think there's no pleasing some people.
it'll be over next week and no doubt people will find something else to whinge about

I was just chuckling to myself thinking what if all of the contestants were MNetters. The game would be over fairly swiftly as after the first three arrived for breakfast on Day 1 nobody would be able answer the door to the breakfast room.

She'll throw Stephen under the bus as soon as it's convenient, to her. There's no way she wants to share it.

ZappyDays · 17/01/2026 10:00

Sorry to those who don’t like the secret relationship theories but I just can’t unsee it since that confessional. Little looks they give each other and the fact neither of them ever throw heat at each other. I’m fully prepared to be wrong though.

They are not related. The NI media have been running stories on their families and it’s just not possible.

Iheartwhitetshirts · 17/01/2026 13:01

The secret relationships have been so tedious. Both in the show and online.

helplessbanana · 17/01/2026 13:08

EchoedSilence · 16/01/2026 22:52

Why though? It's a game. You play to win. The best player should win. Not some underdog who coasts and brings nothing to the game.

If the underdog wins, then they are the best player. They've gone under the radar and evaded suspicion, banishment and murder all the way through, which is pretty hard to do in such a pressure-cooker environment.

helplessbanana · 17/01/2026 13:14

CrossPurposes · 16/01/2026 22:57

I think the producers did a good job showing us why Sam came under suspicion whereas I'm baffled about what the faithful are seeing in Jade to keep picking on her. She's not great at defending herself though and I would have liked to see her coming up with better ideas than lobbing back at her accusers.

There's only so many times you can say "I'm a Faithful", and Jade has nothing else with which to defend herself. Everything she does or says is viewed as suspicious anyway.

CharlotteRumpling · 17/01/2026 13:19

She could have pointed out that Rachel has been accused by both Harriet and Fiona. And is steering the game with her periodic announcements ...
Stressed the cage theory again....
Remembered that Jessie called out Stephen..
All more useful than parroting " I am a Faithful".

ZappyDays · 17/01/2026 13:21

OK thank you, I haven’t been keeping across NI media and I’m not on social media and haven’t done a deep dive into all their personal lives, I was just going on what I had seen on tv. So that has settled it, thank you I’ll stop barking up the wrong tree. I was starting to feel like Jessie must have felt when she kept going for Stephen and nobody was listening to her! But in this instance I admit I was wrong.
