My news is I have discovered fan fiction AO3 and Wolfbird and I am not sure if I am going to recover!

Why is this show resonating so much with women?. At its simplest level it’s a well written and acted love story with fantastic characters. It’s also 2 very hot people doing hot things to each other! And the argument is also that it’s not a misogynistic show. Women aren’t central to the story but feature in a healthy way, when they do appear..

Yet there seems to be more to it. The constant need to rewatch is intriguing. Women who maybe have never previously read mm romance are seeking books out and jumping into fan fiction as well as rewatching., it’s actually a bit mad! Threads is full of these women who seem to be on a journey of self discovery.

I have seen women state on threads that the show has helped them rediscover their libido or reevaluate a relationship. I have already stated that it has focused my mind on something about my own identity that I been grappling with and just. watching it really improves my mood.

I keep wondering when the obsession will wear off. For me and for others. Will we sustain it until season 2??

@Fatrascal27 I moved to 90% MM books around six years ago. I just got so fed up with the way woman at portrait in romance books, it was either MM or skipping romance at all. I still read MF but very selected books and mainly books where the focus is on the story line and not the relationship.

The main reason is that I don't need to see myself in the character, I can enjoy the book and the romance without feeling the need to look at myself and come up short or feeling the need to throw the book against the wall because the female character is utterly stupid portraited.

I’m on threads too and I love Wolfbird. Next chapter is coming this weekend apparently. Apogee is amazing and made me cry. Same author.
