There are more questions than answers...

Could Bear be in John Sugdens cottage?

I'd just presumed Bear was upstairs in Paddy's. Poor Bear - swapping one form of imprisonment for another, albeit more comfortable, one.

That's a thought. Who will inherit the cottage? Sale of that could rescue the land for Robert and Vick.

But was John ever proved to be who he said he was? And even if he was who's to say he didn't father any children in the years before he turned up? And what was the point of Aiden Moore unless he turns out to be the 'real' John?

Don’t be asking all those questions. You’re supposed to forget everything the minute you’ve watched it. Until John returns from the dead in five years time when you will be expected to remember everything about him.

Aaron and John were married when he died so Aaron should inherit the property

I don't think Aiden can be the real John as Aidens mother was at the hospital.

On Friday there was a flashback to Paddy and Aaron hugging in the pub. That could have been just the first time they had seen each other since the crash or perhaps it happened later after Aaron had taken Bear to the cottage. The flashbacks have made it difficult to tell when things happened.

As an aside, considering John's mum was on the council with Eric I assume he grew up not too far from the village, you would have thought that at some point someone might have asked one of the Sugdens if they were related to John. He's even named after his father who was well known in the area.

I'm another who thinks Paddy acted well last night. The pain and sadness at the state his dad was in was very convincing. Just a shame it was alongside the whole debacle of moving a body in broad daylight.

I think it was quite clever that the scenes we saw of Paddy and Dylan before this week's flashbacks were them pretending to not know anything when in fact they were already concealing Bear. That would explain why everyone thought Paddy was acting weird/too calm after being told by Marlon and others about Bear.

No they don't. I said the same thing to DH. In a larger first aid kit you would have a face shield but not in the size of the one Dylan produced last night. That sort of first aid kit would have only contained plasters and bandages.

That bit was so daft @spannasaurus because he would have been at school when Robert and Andy were there yet they never saw him until he turned up in the village.

Oh of course I forgot John would still be married to Aaron.

Still puzzling over the point of Aidan Moore though.

For anyone who wants spoilers Bradley and Lisa have made a video where they’re talking about what she missed while she was in the jungle and then it shows clips from next week.

I think it was just to show us that John was a psychopath (which everyone on this thread knew the second they saw him) and now they can’t be bothered to expand his story any further.

It would have made more sense if John had been conceived when Jack was in London and he grew up there rather than locally. He would only have to be 5-6 years older than Robert for that timeline to make sense

To be fair, if Mandy wasn't in the jungle I would have put bets on her being Ray's killer 🤣

It’s frustrating for long time viewers because there used to be great continuity but now they can decide to change history like they did with Shadrach and we’re just supposed to believe it!

Does anyone think that some story lines had to be rewritten at short notice this year.

Mainly with Lydia and Kim but possibly others. There was that ridiculous story of Lydia's birthday party that she wasn't at but to me it seemed it had originally been written with her being there.

There seemed to be a number of scenes filmed with just Kim, Lydia and Sam which seemed a bit off somehow to me like they were filmed to fit around limited availability of the actors or reshot due to story line changes.

They could have let Aidan conveniently die when John got to him in the hospital. Seems silly just to keep him there in a coma.

Why am I attempting logic? It's Emmerdale. 😂

I'm still trying to work out where Faith met Frank Tate and fell pregnant with Caleb. Neither the Tates nor the Dingles lived in the village at the time of Calebs conception

I think the writers have forgotten about poor Aiden Moore, as they do with many other things

They need to use that old device of someone reading the Hotten Courier with a headline saying Local Army Hero Dies In Hospital or something with a big photo of Aidan so that we get closure!

True, but hopefully we won't have any more random Tate children showing up. Except for Jean Tate, I wouldn't mind if she came back to take down Joe. I don't think it's never really been explained why Joe stopped living with Zoe so there could be some bad blood between Jean and Joe.

They were only brought into the show mid /late '80 's
