Apologies, I can’t see another thread so just starting this one in anticipation.

Can’t wait to see what the red cloak is all about!

There's something about Hugo that reminds me of Paul - a slight touch of main character syndrome, maybe.

Absolutely. As soon as he was made a traitor he obviously assumed he would take the lead. I think Rachel would like to throw him under the bus at the first opportunity, but maybe will hold off unless and until he seems to become dangerous to her.

Rachel reminds me of Charlotte in the previous series.

Hmmm. Interesting though, that Harriet and Hugo are nearly the same age and are a barrister and a former barrister and both from London. Small world, barristering so I can't help wondering if they know each other. Professionally, or even personally.

They keep showing a frame of a family tree with all contestants on it. I’m wondering if all of them are related in some way to one of the other’s (like the mum and daughter). What a twist that would be?

GoodQueenWenceslaus · 02/01/2026 11:07

The secret traitor can have enormous fun manipulating the shortlist so that, whoever the traitors murder, it will throw suspicion on one of them. It really does add some interesting twists.

On Uncloaked Bonus they confirmed that the castle has been redecorated. I thought it had been I don’t know if I said on here or just to myself.

I noticed that straight away. They have also painted the fly-on-the-wall cameras to blend in with the decor, which they hadn't done for the celebrity version.

CrushingOnRubies · 01/01/2026 23:03

I do feel like a need a whiteboard or something to keep track of who’s being shortlisted each evening and who’s not. And who’s being mentioned and things. More so than other series

Working on it!

Like a Agatha Christie novel

The ex detective reminds me of the ex detective on destination X.

For me, a cross between Juliet Bravo, and Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect.

I thought it was a solid first episode. I like the secret traitor, it gives us an idea of what it’s like for them

BakedBeansforabrain · 02/01/2026 11:15

Not read the whole thread but did anybody hear Roxie call Judy mum in the boat task

Well the actual crime novelist in the castle will suss that in no time then.😂

AuntyAngela · 02/01/2026 11:20

Just remembered something that bugged me!! When the "oh I thought putting the coffin in the grave saved people" woman got all offened a coffin was in her grave meaning she was up for murder, while ignoring the fact she, herself, chose other people to be in the same selection of people.

All very "why am i so special?" musing, that you just want someone to point out it's the same as reason everyone else.

Though, is she just self-centred or was it an attempt to emphasise she's just worried as everyone else she might be murdered? A "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." situation?

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 02/01/2026 11:28

That coffin/grave task irritated me no end. They wasted far too much time in faffing about discussing where to put each coffin, instead of just dumping it in the nearest grave and then dashing off to get the next one. Choosing the closest graves would have been entirely random and nobody could have complained about that. It was the fairest, easiest and quickest way to do it. There was no benefit to be gained from wasting time talking about whose grave to choose, they don't know one another well enough yet, and all it would do was cause unnecessary discord.

Put me down for Harriet please

And me, please.

Right, numbers crunched and here are our statistics:

79 guesses so far (as of this post)
56 posters

Confirmed Traitors
Hugo

Confirmed Faithful

Secret Traitor Suspects (# of votes)
Fiona (13)
Ross (12)
Amanda (11)

Roxy (8)
Jade (6)
Harriet (6)
Jessie (3)
Sam (3)
Jack (2)
Netty (2) - Not the ST
Ben (1)
Faraaz (1)

Interestingly, only 4 players have not been named as ST suspects:

Adam
Ellie
Matthew
Reece

Odds are it’s one of them 😜

Just goes to show that we’d all be just as rubbish at playing the game as those on the show!

I’ll go for Adam as the ST simply because of his positioning in the cast announcement - he’s the only one out of alphabetical order.

Who the heck are Adam, Ellie, Matthew and Reece?

CaveMum · 02/01/2026 11:56

Traitors-adjacent news - Clare Balding’s dad has died.

Ian Balding was a renowned racehorse trainer, best known for training the legendary Mill Reef.

His son, Andrew, took over the family business in 2002.

I read a lot of crime fiction and haven’t heard of her either. Now had it been Val McDermid that would be different.

Richard Osman had heard of her though and said that she was at the Hay festival. She refused to do something with a celebrity turned crime author because they don’t write their own books.

The vicar or the judge 🤔

I don’t recognise half the names 😂 Not even going to try as they will be out soon enough or become memorable enough for me to know their names 🤣

PlazaAthenee · 02/01/2026 08:24

The secret traitor might be one of the traitors.

I think there's more than one family connection in there. The family tree picture in the hallway was fishy.

I love this idea 😆

TeideHeart · 02/01/2026 12:03

They keep going back to the family tree. I reckon we need a screenshot so we can peruse it in more detail.

IAmKerplunk · 02/01/2026 12:03

If the ST is already a traitor it better not be Hugo!

That would be hilarious if they were all tenuously linked or everybody had a family member in there with them - but can you imagine the headache that would have given the producers to orchestrate?
