Apologies, I can’t see another thread so just starting this one in anticipation.

Can’t wait to see what the red cloak is all about!

I recommend listening to the Rest is Entertainment podcast. Some very interesting ideas and views.

I agree. I like hearing from the production perspective on TRIE. They've made me consider Harriet for ST as she didn't get much airtime yesterday.

Boolabus · 02/01/2026 10:07

Like the idea of the secret traitor but think it would be more interesting if they switched who decides on the murder. I think the traitors should come up with the shortlist and ST decide who gets murdered from that shortlist. That would mean it will be a lot harder for the traitors to work out who the ST is and also leave them unsure at breakfast who has actually gone.

I think it's far too early to have any idea who the ST is and production will definitely send us down the wrong path with their edits.

On this year's cast I've no issue with any of them yet but there does seem to be quite a few men of similar age, 30s. I also think by now people have worked out that you're best keeping traitors you suspect in to keep yourself safe and prevent recruitments so I wonder will that play a part in the round table, as in a strategy to whittle down faithfuls first.

xsquared · 02/01/2026 10:08

I think I am in the minority here of not being too upset about the introduction of the ST.

It adds interest and variety to the game that contestants thought they knew so well.

Contestants selected as traitors will already have strategies and know what to look out for from previous shows, but the added twist means they have to rethink everything and play the game anew.

At the moment, I think Rachel and Hugo appear too self assured for my liking. Both want to be the top dog.

pinkperm · 02/01/2026 10:10

IMO the secret traitor twist is crap. It could have worked if we (the audience) know who it is but the traitors don’t. But keeping the audience in the dark is annoying so I’m not too excited about this series (and I’m a MASSIVE traitors fan).

CaveMum · 02/01/2026 10:19

I’m updating my spreadsheet with this morning’s guesses. I’m noting the date of each guess too so that we don’t get any “after timing” 😜

Yes I have too much time on my hands!

We also only get the edit the producers want so they can be as misleading as they like about who it is. At least if you were an actual player, you'd see everything as it is!

I also don't like not seeing the ST's thought process on whom to choose.

Sandysandal · 02/01/2026 10:23

i think overall the ST is a good introduction to keep the game fresh. Otherwise it continues with the traitors having a big advantage at the start and by now the faithfuls have learnt that they need to work out who the traitors are but vote out other faithfuls to avoid recruitment and be sure to vote them out in the final (like Nick Mohammad’s plan if he hadn’t bottled it). Even discussing whether we like the st or not gives an extra dimension!

Put me down for Harriet please

On Uncloaked Bonus they confirmed that the castle has been redecorated. I thought it had been I don’t know if I said on here or just to myself.

I noticed some bits looked different, with new camera shots etc.

Oh my Gawd, I love the secret traitor. Great twist IMO - I'm pinning my early 'for no good reason' vote on Julia for it. First of all when she was talking about what kind of friends she wants to make she said 'trusting' ones. Secondly when she was lowering a coffin she said 'because they talk too much' but then in the boat acted dumb and said 'does the coffin save them?'

Love it. Love it. Keep the twists coming. Love the idea of the spreadsheet!

You mean Fiona?

There is no Julia. There is a Judy, Jessie, Jack, Jade and James.

I've not RTFT, skimmed the middle pages sorry, but did anyone else hear someone say "Mum" when they were in the rowing boats. It didn't hugely surprise me when Roxie said Judy was her Mum but no-one else in the boat mentioned it?

I think this happens a lot but it’s edited out ie that bloopers are made and traitors reveal themselves.

I forget which series had a woman in it who was a traitor who had outed herself early on but the faithfuls left her in it as didn’t see the benefit of taking her out just as she’d just be replaced. I think they also used her to go back to the traitors saying they ie the faithfuls were all going to vote for a certain person that evening, so the traitors would be blind sighted at the round table.

There was another series where a faithful shouted ‘Daddy’ at his father when they saw each other.

It’s edited so we don’t see and hear it to keep us in suspense.

Doubletroubledoubled · 02/01/2026 10:39

Did anyone record it?
I thought that it might be possible to guess who the secret traitor was if you could remember who was sitting where around the table.
I’m sure that when Claudia tapped the shoulder of the chosen one you were able to see tiny bits of what the people on either side were wearing.
I’m off to work shortly - might have to have a look on iPlayer later

Yes, I did mean Fiona 😂 Thank you. Don't know where Julia came from

jeremyclarksonsthirdnipple · 01/01/2026 23:45

I don't like the change of the red traitor..I do wish they wouldn't change the winning formula.

I think they have to keep changing it, because participants tend to plan their approach according to what they learn from watching previous series. This way they are all kept on their toes.

JasonTindallsTan · 02/01/2026 10:47

My vote is Judy for ST but I think ex CID (who could not look more like a cop if she had it tattooed on her face) is also a possible shout.

I like the ST twist. It’s been said loads that it would be good if the audience didn’t know who the traitors were as we could play along as well. This gives an element of that whilst keeping the other stuff.

WonderfulSmith · 02/01/2026 10:47

I think Fiona is a good call for the ST. People will look at her like she’s their Nan and she is playing up to that with comments like not understanding the task. She’s going to stay, it’s like the opposite of voting out the clever person. She won’t be seen as a threat.

WonderfulSmith · 02/01/2026 10:47

The ex detective reminds me of the ex detective on destination X.

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 02/01/2026 10:49

I’m going for Jessie as ST. I did originally think Fiona but wonder if that’s too obvious a choice.

I think Hugo is definitely one of the most annoying traitors I've ever seen. And I thought Armani was bad enough.

There's something about Hugo that reminds me of Paul - a slight touch of main character syndrome, maybe.

thecatdidit · 02/01/2026 10:53

Soberfutures · 01/01/2026 22:01

Just a notice as i had subtitles on... during the coffin boats some one said "mum" and I think it was the now revealed daughter to her mum. Judy and roxy. Haven't had chance to rewind it to confirm but I wonder if anyone else watching or on that boat noticed?

Yes I noticed that she shouted mum and then guys, it'd be very difficult to hide the relationship.
At the time of her saying mum I just thought she'd mispoke or had already appointed her as the "mum" of her group.

TeideHeart · 02/01/2026 10:53

I also think by now people have worked out that you're best keeping traitors you suspect in to keep yourself safe and prevent recruitments so I wonder will that play a part in the round table, as in a strategy to whittle down faithfuls first.

Isn't this scuppered because the traitors won't be working out between themselves who to murder. So they might ordinarily keep in x, y, and z persons because they all think one or other of the traitors is a faithful. The traitors having worked on friendships with the more trusting. But the secret traitor lists all three so they must murder one.

I'm thinking about previous series when it ended up being the naive faithful who believed in their traitor friends who ended up getting to the end.

If the secret traitor can see these friendships and do their best to scupper them, then it hopefully sets things up for a better conclusion.

If they can stay in that long.

I like the secret traitor premise so far.

Iamthesecrettraitor · 02/01/2026 10:58

I don’t hate the addition of the ST - will be interesting to see how it works.

I think not Roxy as surely this gives Judy too much of an advantage as Roxy would presumably never choose her for the murder shortlist?

Yourinmyspot · 02/01/2026 10:58

I’ve not read the full thread yet but does anyone else think James looks like David Tennant? Me and DD said that man (can’t remember his name), looks like Ross’s brother.

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 02/01/2026 10:52

Yes, though Paul was charming and popular. I can't see Hugo being that!
