I hope he can still play Davis Cup but it might be touch and go with the leg.

Raahh · 16/11/2025 19:40

Ice I hope he plays.

Mind you, if he doesn't , ADF might get a call up. (He might tell them to stick it though Grin).

Mr. Takasaki is very nervous

JaneJeffer · 16/11/2025 19:44

Oh now they love him

IceandIndigo · 16/11/2025 19:46

I do like the Italian crowd, they are always respectful.

JaneJeffer · 16/11/2025 19:47

What would these two do without each other though? They would have no competition!

Carlos is still smiling. That's nice.

Both of them really suit the colours they’re wearing.

JaneJeffer · 16/11/2025 19:55

I saw a clip of Jannik doing an interview with Alex Corretja in Spanish for the first time which was really sweet

Alex was the last Spaniard to win the tour finals, iirc.

I like Carlos and Jannik- they do bring out the best in each other. I think the best players do. Mac always said he played best against Borg (and they hardly played each other, really).

Rafa and Roger had a great rivalry- and , I think, genuine friendship.

I think the rivalry between Djok/Rafa Djok/Roger - stayed on court.

Yes, Alex was the last Spaniard to win it.

Well done Jannik. Nice to see Carlos still smiling.

JaneJeffer · 16/11/2025 20:11

I’ve switched over to the darts where the two Lukes have a similar dynamic to Carlos and Jannik Grin

Raahh · 16/11/2025 20:12

They are such lovely young men-Carlos is only a few months younger than my Ds, which still blows my mind.

So, Darren Cahill is sticking around then?

They are so sweet. When the two of them were being interviewed together at the start they asked Carlos what his favourite moment of the year had been and he was hesitant to answer and was looking at Jannik who patted him on the back as if to say it’s ok you can say it and then he said Paris. They have so much respect for each other.

Raahh · 16/11/2025 20:23

I love it.

I like players like Daniil and Sasha Bublik who add some danger to matches.

But it's great to see players respecting each other.

Maybe Aryna should take note ...

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself today, it would be a bit much to watch WTF repeats.

So, it's back to the Christmas channel this week -til the Davis Cup starts Grin.

It sounds like Carlos is intending to play, as of now- hopefully he won't make his hamstring problems any worse.

I always feel a bit lost when there’s no tennis. I don’t get chance to watch tennis as much as I would like, but I still keep up with the scores and this thread and I don’t like it when nothing’s happening!

Fizzywinegum · 17/11/2025 11:05

I know we shouldn’t really complain when there’s no tennis (those poor players need a rest!) but I also feel a bit lost when there isn’t any

I only saw the last set of the final last night - DS1 came for Sunday dinner and then wanted to watch NFL Hmm - it is nice to see how much Carlos and Jannik obviously respect each other

I was pleased that Jannik won his ‘home’ tournament - hopefully Carlos isn’t too injured - that was a big bandage on his thigh!

I’m not quite ready for Christmas films yet Raahh - not sure if I ever am ready! Grin although there has been some mention of snow this week!

That's a very cool statistic. I'm a sucker for a good stat Easter Grin

That stat has slightly blown my mind (doesn't take much!) Confused

kazzaD66 · 17/11/2025 15:02

Apparently, Jim Courier has said that Joe is taking a 3 month break from tennis for his mental health and aims to return for the clay court season. I hope he's ok. I seem to remember he was getting trolled online earlier this year and took a break from SM because of it.
