MAFS #11 NO SPOILERS. It's groundhog day on the merry-go-round. 5 weeks in and 0 progress or results. Nobody is leaving, other than always seething. We really need to see progress, but instead we are seeing same old arguments.

I mean, if Ash said it like “oh there’s naked woman in front of me” rather than “Oh you look hot as hell” then I kind of see where Grace is coming from, around it feeling impersonal. It’s more of a he’s turned on by a naked woman, than by her being the naked woman.

But, if that was what was said, I also feel she’s overthinking it a bit too much and taking it a bit too personally.

Grace wants the exact right words, and Ash can’t deliver them. They’re just not suited. They’re both valid in their feelings and they’re struggling to understand each other. Knock it on the head guys. It’s never going to work.

He can not win with her. The partner swap week showed him how much fun he could / should be having.

She needs some therapy I think - TOO emotional

I think Ash is someone who says what he thinks and doesn’t necessarily think about the wording. In his head, he’s giving a compliment.

And in fairness, many of us wouldn’t be bothered by his wording, we’d get what he meant. And I think that’s what he means when he says she doesn’t ’get him’.

Whereas Grace needs specific wording. She needs things said in a way that are palatable to her. And if they’re not said in that manner she takes offence. And Ash isn’t used to a woman that scrutinises his words that much.

They’re just opposite ends of the spectrum.

You're right. Unless Ash uses Grace approved words, what he is saying is offensive. Even though the vast majority of people would know exactly what he is saying and wouldn't even think of getting offended by it.

Grace's face when Nelly mentioned the photo of Ratboy and April said so much. She clearly sees a photo of a man with a woman not his wife is a terrible thing when most people would just go "Oh, glad you had fun" and move on.
