Just listened to The Traitors podcast — the host works in TV and mentioned that during the chess game, Claudia’s line was dubbed over to say that the winning team would be the one with the most correct answers out of three (or however it was phrased).

He also said that the chess task was cut short because they had to remove a section involving the “snake” chess piece — apparently, the person the team selected as the snake got so annoyed that they had to edit it out.

Makes me think my suspicion that a lot of the conflict and negative behaviour has been edited out. It also seems plausible that the more famous contestants have more say in how they were portrayed — which might be why Joe M is being seen as “aggressive.”

ThePoshUns · 25/10/2025 08:47

Cat has backed herself into a corner now by consistently voting Stephen in the big dog theory. She will have to vote for Jonathan at the next round table or it will look odd that she is no longer believing in that theory.

MrsLeonFarrell · 25/10/2025 08:50

If they want to continue doing a celebrity version they have to make sure the celebrities are portrayed well, hence the editing of rows. Civilians don't get the same protection which is a pity in some ways.

I don't agree that Jonathan is still there because of his power in the celebrity world. I've been re watching UK series 2 and exactly the same happened with Paul. He was a loud, popular character with loads of influence in the game and it took people ages to vote him out. His popularity in the game made him bulletproof for way longer than should have objectively been the case.

Given the number of times she's already hinted at Jonathan but haven't vote for him it's going to look very suspicious. Or at least ot will do to a thinking person.

She needs to have the balls to do what she'd say she would do, work with Alan and persuade other faithfuls to vote Jonathan.

If they don't at the next round table, then they're in danger of being outnumbered by traitors!

I agree with the Paul from series 2 parallels, which is why I think either Cat or Alan need to speak against him at the round table. The Faithfuls just don't want to be the first to do it, but it looks like the other traitors.sonr either!

Ok scrap this. I went bazk and finished the last bit of the podcast (don't usually bother but suddenly thought it might be his lie). Seems it was made up 🤣

Though he does think her voice was dubbed. Plus the snake chess piece wasn't in it, so it's still possible!!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 25/10/2025 09:34

I wonder if Joe M was chosen as a snake?!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 25/10/2025 09:43

If Jonathan was clever he could actually pin Alan being a traitor by quizzing him about the shield
If the crowd agree with Jonathan and Alan is banished and reveal he is a traitor, Jonathan would be viewed as a faithful!

I could see this happening. Lucy was with two or three others when she was wondering how Alan could forget he had a shield and concluded it was because it didn’t matter to him ie he was a traitor. If this gets brought up at the round table they could easily get the numbers to banish Alan.

Am still waiting for Joe to remember Jonathan did the same thing in about Episode 2…

Well, as it turns out, the snake might not have been in it at all!!

The snake in previous ones it was something along the lines of the person who was "slipping under the radar". So not sure why Joe M would have been chosen? (Maybe now after the last round table,) More likely they would have chosen one of the "big dogs".

I think there were other chess pieces too in previous Traitors.it was a game with categories designed to provoke anyway!!

Did anyone find SF’s impressions of Alan Carr on Uncloaked a bit cruel?

Not in the least.

Ratafia · 25/10/2025 10:35

Lionfisher · 24/10/2025 19:13

I’m on catch up and just saw Cat blame her nap on ADHD and autism when Stephen rightly pointed out that the traitors get less sleep. Sorry if it’s been said already.

What an effing joke.

And then Stephen felt like he had to apologise for offending her… when she was just using it to cover up and deflect for being a sht game player with zero personality.

I’m so sick of people using differences to excuse behaviours that have nothing to do with their differences. Differences that could mean anything from virtually no difference in daily life … to being completely and utterly unable to live independently.

Cat can go. I’ve lost all respect for her.

Edited

Doesn't it occur to you that she may well have spoken nothing but the truth? After all, generally you would expect someone of her age to cope fine with late nights.

the80sweregreat · 25/10/2025 10:37

No, I thought that SF just did an impression of Alan to hammer home why nobody suspects him much.
He is good at deflecting and made a career from giggling and laughing , so people were not that suspicious. They may be now he messed up over his shield though and there are less of them.

Since when has a snake been a chess piece anyway?

Agree! Not in the slightest.
But those that don't like SF will find a way to denigrate him.

... neither is a rat or a two-faced figure.
It's not actually a game of chess.

I dunno it felt very much like weaponising her health issues (I have both of them also) to make fry back off - which worked!

I dunno, it wasn't for me

Agree. It made me v uncomfortable - not dissimilar to someone using a physical disability to excuse traitor behaviour.

Yes I know, it's all rather daft, isn't it? I wasn't thinking about the other pieces, but you are totally right.

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 25/10/2025 11:25

I wonder how much the plan the challenges in advance. Clearly the actual challenges are known, all the equipment and everything set up, and they add in things specific to the people - like the traitors answering the questions, or the quiz questions about the people in the coffins and so on. But I wonder if they decide things like how many shields to offer, or where to put them, or how hard/easy to make things, in order to try to help the faithfuls or certain ones, to try to propel the game a long a bit more, or whatever. Like maybe deciding last minute to offer the whole winning team shields - that could have been something decided on the day, once they know who is left etc.
I guess some of it they might prepare clues for every single person in advance and then just use the ones they want, but other aspects might be done more 'on the fly'.

WestwardHo1 · 25/10/2025 11:26

It’s brilliant TV with a proper celebrity cast that other reality shows can only dream of (not mentioning any names, erm Strictly…)

The danger being in my opinion that it will from now on become a format that only uses celebrities and the pool of A list slebs willing to do it will grow ever smaller and it will go the same way as Strictly.

The BBC needs to be careful. Obviously they'll be delighted they have such a massive smash ratings hit, but they need to be sparing with it. Have the celeb version alternate with the normal version every other year, possibly.

DameWishalot · 25/10/2025 11:29

Cat should ally with Joe to do a “we’re not luvvy celebrities, we’re going to be brave and actually write down Jonathan’s name”. It’s win win for her - if others join them it solidifies her as a faithful (and a good faithful who’s got a traitor!) and if not enough do then she can say to Jonathan that she was forced into it to keep her own cover and there’s not a lot he can do. I think it’d look very suspicious if Jonathan started going for her.

Thinking about it, I think Cat should have said something like "non stop socialising has always knackered me out" or "I've always been one to have cat naps during the daytime" or something.

Avoids accusations of exploiting her neurodivergence at the same time as being perfectly plausible. I was always a napper as a teen and 20 something. I find intense socialising tiring but am not as far as I know neurodivergent.

Or, you know, no one cares about this in the real world? She used it to her advantage as a traitor, good for her. Always use what you can to your advantage.

Although one PP saying ADHD can’t lie is hilarious 😂

Why should anybody have to avoid talking about aspects of their life that impact them for fear of the opinion of others?
Whether that's physical, medical, neurological, hormonal or anything else?
This is one of the reasons why autistics mask and fawn when dysregulated because being themselves attracts criticism or accusations. It's why women often deal with hormonal issues from puberty through to menopause and beyond believing they shouldn't discuss aspects of life they should just get on with etc.

Why does it matter that Cat referenced her asd and adhd? That's her life to reference if she wants to. And in the context of a game based on deceit, she can choose to be deceitful when put on the spot. Or she may have simply been honest.

This isn't "using her ND as an excuse". Players are playing a game using truth snd deceit constantly.

CaveMum · 25/10/2025 12:35

I think it’s time to quote Claudia again and remind some people:

”What’s the name of the game?”

The whole point of the game is to lie and deceive - for Faithfuls as well as Traitors. And above all else it is just a game.
