I'm not a fan of JR but from what I've read she's had a challenging childhood.
She was adopted when she was very young and moved to a different country. Her adopted father died when she was in her early teens. Her adopted sister took on guardianship and she now calls her mum. I'm not a psychotherapist, but I'm guessing she has abandonment and control issues due to unpredictable events that occurred during her childhood. She uses passive aggression to mask her insecurities - fear of abandonment probably being one of her biggest issues. This is not to excuse her behaviour, but the TV producers really should do psychological tests on the potential contestants before they enter the show to ensure that they don't cause harm to themselves or others.

Agree. I don’t think Leigh is attracted to Leah. I think Leah was attracted to Leigh but is getting bored. I think they both like being on the show.

It’s giving dean and whatsername vibes, Sarah?
we haven’t yet but …

dapsnotplimsolls · 26/10/2025 23:10

Have Grace and Ash shagged yet?

Italiangreyhound · 26/10/2025 23:10

Maeve is a bit silly, she could have heard him out. I know she is upset but her approach to Joe's return was ridiculous.

Italiangreyhound · 26/10/2025 23:13

I am almost certain Joe was told not to tell he was coming back. Whether she was told to act angry or not, no idea. But they have Conley known each other 3 weeks or so.

She could ask about he funeral etc and just find out how he is, instead it was all guns blazing!

Italiangreyhound · 26/10/2025 23:22

Julia Ruth is attractive but not a 10/10!

Julia Ruth is attractive but not a 10/10!

In the context of the room, she is a close 10/ 10, more of an 8/10 as I think Crystal is very pretty in a Barbie doll kinda way.

Italiangreyhound · 26/10/2025 23:27

Ash is winning me back!!!

Totally agree, I am mum to two kids, one is adopted. I think that many of the contestants on this show are quite emotionally unstable and safeguarding should rule out people who cannot cope with the process.

Not all adopted children will have these issues of course. I think many of the other people on this season (Maeve, Joe, Leasha, and Grace) have some issues which mean they would almost certainly display some explosive or 'car-crash-tv-worthy' activity, which is why they were picked!

Have Grace and Ash shagged yet?

No. They are such a terrible match. She is a sensitive person, he is a take-the-piss sense of humour person. I love a take the piss sense of humour, and would find him good fun but it’s def not for her. He’s walking on egg shells and she’s constantly clenched. It’s too much hard work for either of them to sustain.

LaminatedLou · 26/10/2025 23:44

I can’t understand how the so called experts can’t weed out those too emotionally vulnerable, or maybe it just makes good tv.
So many of them are so incredibly needy. Giving them a ‘husband’ then counting down week by week til they break up is a terrible thing to do.

Garamousalata · 27/10/2025 04:25

What a shit show JR is. I feel sorry for Divarni being matched with her.

Nelly needs professional help. MAFS is the very last place suitable for her and unfortunately she was matched with Ratboy, who is a piece of work.

I like Maeve, Joe was wrong for not keeping in touch with her. That’s the issue and that’s why she was so upset. How could he ghost her for a week and then turn up and expect her to be okay with him? Poor Maeve, she deserves so much better. She should stick to horses, they are far nicer than men. 🤣

@QuietUnicorn agree, I’m sure JR has been through things most of us could never imagine. She seems to push people away and perhaps that is a self defence mechanism to reject them before they reject her.

WineBeforeWhine · 27/10/2025 07:34

Watching it now. I don’t blame Joe not going in to the dinner party, he’s said
all he wanted to say to Maeve and she just shouts and gets all gobby. No point flogging a dead horse.

WineBeforeWhine · 27/10/2025 07:39

JR is a nasty girl. That’s all.

chaosmaker · 27/10/2025 07:59

INeedSleepTooManySheepToCount · 26/10/2025 22:23

I would put JR with Steven to re-enter the show as a couple. Both insufferable PITA. They deserve each other.

Nobody should be made to suffer them any longer.

silkypyjamas · 27/10/2025 09:13

I am being dim here... when they say 10 10 what does that mean? 10 out of 10 personality or size 10? is there a sliding scale I am wondering what I might be sat watching MAFS in my one size fits all dressing gown 🤔

opencecilgee · 27/10/2025 10:30

I am actually starting to feel sorry for JR

Last night was a bit of a pile on. Why did Bailey have to wade in and call her a bitch?

Nelly keeps bringing up the non issue of JR saying Steven is her type. Its so repetitive

Are you kidding? After she stood up and basically told everyone to fuck off?

Come on now.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 27/10/2025 12:54

I think Nelly really embarrassed herself. To the point I was rooting for JR in that little spat!

How come April isn’t being accused of trying to break up Ash and Grace’s ‘marriage’? Or is this to come…

Nifty50something · 27/10/2025 13:38

I suspect Joe has been off seeing Sarah. He's her usual type which the producers made clear at the very beginning of the series - she was describing how she loves men covered in tattoos who look like they've just come out of jail and they cut to showing Joe rather than Dean. Whereas usually they'd cut to scenes of the person they've been matched with. Sarah and Dean were never, ever going to work.

So I suspect the big "twist" will be that Sarah and Joe try to come back on the show as a couple and that the producers have said this up from the very start for maximum drama. Mark my words - you heard it here first!

I thought it meant a 10 out of 10 in looks but I find a lot of what they say baffling, we need a MAFS phrase book

I don’t think they give it a huge amount of thought. Certain words and phrases just seem to drop from their mouths, like pastry from a Greggs sausage roll.
