Via a couple of Exhibitions in Saudi Arabia.

Thread was coming to an end (if I can work out how to link it!).

IceandIndigo · 11/10/2025 11:28

Yay Valentin! What an amazing story!

I feel like this might make Arthur invincible in the next match.

Raahh · 11/10/2025 11:30

Doesn't look like it's going to be Jasmine's day- revenge for the 3 losses this year for Coco.

Sure hope so 🤞

Raahh · 11/10/2025 11:32

Well done Coco.
Jasmine played so well yesterday- today may have been a match too far.

Valentin, je t'aime!

StartupRepair · 11/10/2025 11:42

Really enjoyed that match and the whole Valentin fairy tale. Hard to imagine Novak in a 5 setter if he comes to AO next year.

IceandIndigo · 11/10/2025 12:44

Daniil wants to spoil the cousins final.

JaneJeffer · 11/10/2025 12:47

Arthur is overthinking things

kazzaD66 · 11/10/2025 12:48

Well done Valentin!!
That's made my day, which isn't difficult considering I fell and twisted my ankle on my morning walk today Sad So much for trying to get fit Hmm
I see he was 9th alternate for qualifying, at 204 in the world and now he's almost top 50!!!

I read there were 11 straight breaks of serve in the Gauff match, which isn't a great advert for women's tennis and that Jasmine actually won more points in the match, which seems bizarre, given the scoreline Confused

JaneJeffer · 11/10/2025 12:53

Oh no kazza hope* *it’s not too serious. There’s a lot to be said for sitting on the sofa watching tennis

Raahh · 11/10/2025 13:03

Oh no, kazza! That's not good. Armchair sport is far safer (if not great for the waistline).

The Coco/Jasmine match was scrappy. Holding serve was almost impossible, Coco has trouble with her serve at the big moments. Really it could have gone to a 3rd set. I think had Jasmine not played so much recently, she might have had more left to fight. Ultimately, I think Coco got a little bit lucky.

The Valentin story is amazing really. I hope he can build on it. He's only 26, despite being on tour for 10 years- so this could be the start of big things. At least he will have some money behind him.

Tell me about it Jane Hmm
Couldn't agree more but I'm so unfit and overweight since menopause, the surgery and anti hormone tablets that I need to do something. But it's a f'ing pain, literally and metaphorically!! Hey ho! Hmm

JaneJeffer · 11/10/2025 13:13

I’m always afraid I’m going to go flying when I’m walking the dog because the ground is so uneven and there are hidden brambles in the grass. I take a walking stick so that when I trip I can stay upright hopefully. I’ll probably fall over now Grin
