Had to go out when the ADF match started- ADF was 1-4 down when I last looked, but somehow got the set on a tie break.

Shame he is playing Sonego this early on, I like both of them.

He was really good- right from the start. He is often a bit slow to get going, and if he loses the first few games, it can be over very soon. But he was just on fire from the beginning.

Maybe they have on eye on the next Olympics? .

I'd rather he stuck around than Djok though!

Bit of a random reason for a cake

I didn’t manage to watch any tennis last week and not sure how much I’ll see this week - it always feels a bit like the fag end of the season anyway but I would have liked to have watched some of it - I wasn’t too sad to miss the 6 kings slam thing (I always forget what it’s called)

Catching up on all my tennis with this thread - which is probably more entertaining (and random) then watching it on TV

I did wonder what was happening!

At least one of the household have something to celebrate- Katie lost in Tokyo.

It's a bit confusing, actually, because there appears to be more than one Japan Open- since Fernandez won in Osaka yesterday- and they were calling that that the Japan Women's Open .

I didn’t see any of the Kings either but I don’t feel like I missed much

Fizzy we try to keep to at least keep it to tennis related things.

I enjoyed last week (didn't see the 6 Kings thing, and I think I only watched last year because of Rafa, in hindsight) .

There were some good matches- and I'm very pleased for Daniil and Casper, who have under performed this year, for different reasons (though Casper did win Madrid, he's been thwarted by injuries).

There still seems to be a lot going on. After the tour finals, it's Davis Cup- no wonder the players are complaining they don't get any time off.

There was speculation during one of the matches I was watching, that Djok might not go to the WTFs- because he's playing Athens the weeks before. Since he lives there now, he might not bother going to Turin.

I sort of knew that Djok was living in Greece but not quite sure why - have the Serbs finally got fed up of him?

Apparently he's moved because he was being targeted by the government? He supported student protests apparently, and they didn't like it.

Or they refused to rename the country after him , something like that anyway.

He's moved to Athens, so he can re-make the Colossus of Rhodes in his likeness, instead.

Thought he had a house in Monte Carlo?? Can't the dc live there?

I'm watching Only Connect- and there was a music question about Peter and the Wolf. ( I got it right - <preens>) - but it made me think my own dc have no idea what this is- but it seemefd to feature hugely during my primary years in the 70s/early 80s!
(like quick sand/ being electrocuted by pylons)

I also grew up on Peter and the Wolf, and developed an irrational fear of wolves, even though there wasn’t much (ok, any) chance of meeting one in New Zealand. To be fair, we did live in the middle of a rainforest which in a child’s imagination could be hiding virtually anything.

I am pretty convinced Djok won’t be playing In Turin. If he does I’m going to be extremely annoyed. I really want Casper to make it, even though that’s probably a long shot.

The likelihood of finding wolves in my bit of Manchester was always pretty slim. . Loved the music though, and remember it so well.

Djok's non appearance in Turin has been mentioned so often, I am starting to hope it's true.

I don't think he will like the idea of maybe losing ALL of his round robin matches. And it's very possible. And he has a record number of WTF finals to protect
