Trigger Point: The story so far

Trigger Point follows a team of bomb disposal officers, known as EXPOs, as they dedicate themselves to keeping London safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats.

In the first series, the team faced threats of bombs across the capital, while in the second series, an anti-capitalist terrorism group targeted several local and political arenas.

So s3 - Now, EXPO Lana Washington, played by Vicky McClure, is about to return to screens for a third series of quite literally explosive action.

Trigger Point season 3: Plot

ITV has teased that the third series will see Lana Washington and her team investigate a bomb threat that soon reveals itself to be the start of a sinister vendetta: someone is targeting individuals and demanding revenge.

Working alongside the Police Counterterrorism Unit, the Bomb Disposal Squad race against time to find the bomber before they claim their next victim.

Having avoided being blown up for two series, Vicky McClure will be back as EXPO Lana Washington for a third.

We'll also see some familiar faces return to the screen, including Eric Shango as EXPO Danny, Nabil Elouahabi as EXPO Hassan "Hass" Rahim, Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan and Maanuv Thiara as DI Amar Batra. Jason Flemyng (Gemma Bovery, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) will also be joining the cast as a special guest star.

Exciting news! Trigger Point has officially been confirmed for a fourth series, bringing back Vicky McClure as EXPO Lana Washington.

The series, coming to screens in 2026 and set to start filming in summer, will again be produced by Jed Mercurio's HTM Television.

Lana is becoming more and more annoying. Last episode got rather boring in parts for me. Will carry on watching though.

If I was the boss I’d tell Lana to wind her neck in and stop undermining him in public. She’s a right cocky cow this series.

I haven’t enjoyed this season and didn’t bother finishing. Usually I’d be riveted.

certainly not as good as previous which I binged. This series I am even forgetting to watch

I was wondering. Do people actually call their CEO sir? Ours is called by his first name so I found it odd when I assume his EA called him Sir.

I’m enjoying but we know I have simple pleasures in tv 😂

They took forever to evacuate that building in episode 5! People strolling out ages after the first bomb went off!

and I wondered what defences the end chap would have when arrested for murder. I think loss of control would suffice here.

Did anyone else notice the totally odd scene at the start tonight with Wash, Sonya and Hass?? They never showed them all in the same shot so presumably they hadn’t been together for filming but Sonya was stood up and kept talking to Wash (sat down) as if they were on the same level! Hers eyes were looking straight ahead and not down! I don’t know why I noticed but it really bugged me 🤣

Yes, the brother was being provoked into killing him, and wouldn't have had the device without his brother deliberately forcing it on him. And Wash heard every word of the taunting lies about killing the wife. Reasonable defence there I think.

end episode 5 they glanced at the camera. I wondered why. Then man came at Lana with
fire extinguisher.
start ep 6 recap -we see her holding his head and positioning it at the camera for Id purposes. Then the fire extinguisher. So different editing.

I’ve just rewatched and E5 he said I am coming past you and E6 he said I need to get past you! Sloppy editing!

Ok so IMO the series was redeemed a bit in the end (from the low point of ep4), but overall this felt like a less gripping series than previous ones. There were too many fatalities: previous (and rarer) deaths were more shocking. Although Lana had better hair, that was the only thing that was an improvement this time around! Hopefully they will come up with a stronger storyline if there is a next series.

I love Vicky McClure and will watch her in anything.
Jealous that she’s gorgeous with zero make up on!
This series didn’t pull me in like the others did.
Apparently there will be a season 4, so hopefully they’ll up their game.
And Lana’s cocodamol habit didn’t seem explored fully.
I thought she might compromise her colleagues because of it. She should definitely have been suspended for it.

I wonder how many she takes as I take Co codemal for my ankke

You can get different strengths of cocodamol but a lot of damage can be done by the paracetamol if you take more than you are supposed to
