Not the most exciting title.

I suppose Laver Cup and Davis Cup must be happening too soon.

He doesn't get extra points for being a martyr- have the players have retired.

Sounds like Djok is being his typical melodramatic self, although I believe the conditions are brutal for all the players. As you say Raahh no one is forcing him to continue playing. Vamos Jaume!

Raahh · 07/10/2025 14:33

Mirra has been getting a bit frustrated . I don't think she likes Laura Siegemund's playing style. But she's getting to grips with the match now.

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 07/10/2025 14:35

She won't be the first to be frustrated by Laura's play style and she won't be the last.

Oh, what a surprise, Djok already up by a break in set 3.

Raahh · 07/10/2025 14:38
Hmm Jaume obviously finding having to play against an 'injured' player tricky . Even though Djok is the one who could be 3-0 up if is Jaume doesn't win this game.

It's so inevitable, isn't it? Ice- the whole injury shtick. And now he will win this set probably 6-2, having ended the last one with Ryan acting like he was half dead.

I just don't understand why people keep falling for it!

JaneJeffer · 07/10/2025 15:04

He doesn’t want to talk? Nobody else would get away with swerving an interview!

Raahh · 07/10/2025 15:09

What now? I was score watching the end- why does he get a pass? No doubt he doesn't want questions about the ' injury '.

And the fact he gets 'injured' every time he plays- which is very obvious now, given he doesn't play that often.

And what about his amazing Chinese fans- thought they were his biggest fans anywhere.

That's a bit rude.

I expected the Andreeva match to be over (Had to go out)- it's turning into a battle. .

Every time I look at the telly Mirra is crying

Raahh · 07/10/2025 16:46

She does seem to have reverted a bit to old behaviours in recent weeks, less able to take the losses/deal with frustration. She had a brilliant start to the year, but it has fallen away a bit. She's still so young though, she's got plenty of time to fight back.

Well done Laura.

Another frosty handshake.

JaneJeffer · 07/10/2025 16:52

The umpire was very dismissive of Laura there

JaneJeffer · 07/10/2025 17:01

What happened to Jelena?

JaneJeffer · 07/10/2025 17:45

Well done Valentin

JaneJeffer · 07/10/2025 17:54

Nice interview. How do these players speak such perfect English?!

IceandIndigo · 08/10/2025 09:39

I didn't know Arthur Rinderknech and Valentin Vacherot were cousins. They're both in the QF in Shanghai.

I feel for Mirra. She's very young, and probably still adjusting to the demands of the tour. The mental transition from being a plucky underdog to being one of the top players who is expected to win every time can't be easy. She will probably still make WTA finals, but it actually might be better for her if she didn't.

Raahh · 08/10/2025 10:41

Along with Tien, it feels like Linda Noskova hasn't had a day off for ages either.

And whilst I was typing that, Naomi basically said the same Grin

Well done Linda.

She is on a roll.

Watching Lore and Felix. I like both, but do want Lore to win, I think .

OP posts:
Raahh · 08/10/2025 11:49

They are having a discussion about balls,

Maybe the weatherhas affected them. Although it's only the 3rd game.

Fizzywinegum · 08/10/2025 12:17

I like them both as well Raahh - it would be nice for Lore to get to the WTFs in Italy but I would like Felix to have a few wins as well

Lore looks a bit stressed - wonder if he’s still worried about the reception he might get from the crowd
