Strictly 2025 : The SPOILER Thread (Results and Couplings)

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 05/09/2025 13:03

Starting this a bit early as Spoilers for the couplings could come out at any time.

Thread will normally be the location for the weekly spoiler but will be spoilers for who is paired with who before the 20th if we can get them.

Thanks!

Excellent result, leaving Amy free to step into Diane's shoes if needed 👏

MarvellousMonsters · 05/10/2025 20:08

I feel so bad for Amy, but I’d rather she just said stuff about getting back into dancing. I’m deeply uncomfortable with someone as repugnant as a Reform/Farage supporter being called ‘adorable’. If he got his way there would be no support for people like Ellie, and most of the professional dancers wouldn’t be allowed to live and work in the UK.

SaratogaFilly · 05/10/2025 21:59

Surely that’s unfair @MarvellousMonsters - I’m not a fan of Tom but I’ve not heard him say anything negative about people with downs syndrome?!

Nadiya will find herself benched if she doesn't improve her innings
If they gave her a decent partner......

An olympic swimmer isn't a decent partner? 🤷🏼‍♀️

SaratogaFilly · 05/10/2025 23:28

Nadiya has definitely had decent dancers, but she’s not able to get the best out of people in the same way that Katya & Dianne can. They are both able to bring the best out and make the most of the talent their partners do have (however limited that may be).

I also suspect this is why Diane was given Stefan. I'm not sure when she's due but she must be 20 weeks ish if she knows she's having a boy. In another 10 weeks she'll be fairly heavily pregnant. Given his form, he'll be going out week 4 or 5 so she can bow out gracefully and enjoy the rest of her pregnancy without having to train.

There is a NIPT Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing
which can be done as early as 9/10 weeks. This is to screen any genetic issues. As many genetic diseases are in present in mostly in males only. Such as haemophilia.

That test detects the XX (female) and XY (male) chromosomes

I’m guessing that Dianne is around 13 weeks pregnant now as she and Joe announced this mid Sept.

Dianne may have pregnancy complications or feel uncomfortable. If Stefan progresses further and Dianne has to withdraw from dancing due to medical advice. Amy will probably take over. Like Lauren did when Amy had her foot injury last year

RandomGeocache · 06/10/2025 08:30

Agree, but I don't think Stefan will get that far. Next people to go will be Stefan, Ross, Chris and Ellie, not in that order necessarily.

I'm quite uncomfortable with the inclusion of Ellie but that's a whole other thread. Vito is lovely but she looks very confused and almost frightened in the area with Claudia and was crying last week. I hope she has lots of off camera support from people she knows and loves.

You’ve built up quite a hatred there. I think the only person who should be annoyed with him is his wife who he cheated on.

Totally agree. They are trying not to be patronising to her but failing.

Holluschickie · 06/10/2025 17:46

However adorable or not Tom is, he was a crap dancer and deserved to go first. No stitch up there. Alex must be 20 + years older and moved better.

Can I moan about the costumes? They are so distractingly awful this year. If you can't make Karen or Amber look good, what are you doing? Not hard to make Jimmy or Stefan look good either. They are attractive men.

I couldn't agree more.

I foresee her needing to pull out, it's a LOT of pressure, physical and mental, and very unfair to expect her to cope with it all, even supported.

autumngirl714 · 07/10/2025 11:45

Diane is my favourite female pro. I’ve loved her partners over the past couple years and I really hope she does stick around on the show because I think she’s great!
part of me though does feel like maybe she should’ve taken a back seat this year. NOT because she’s not capable, but because I don’t know that it’s all that fair on her partner. All the conversations about Stefan are going back to Diane and her pregnancy and all these assumptions he’s been partnered with her as he’s due an early exit. It just doesn’t feel he has as fair of an opportunity as the other couples.
I don’t say that with any ill intent to Diane, she really is my fave, but they aren’t shaking off the pregnancy comments and I don’t think it’s fair on him.
i know alotnofnpeople will copy her this with “why should a woman have to take a back seat because she’s pregnant” and I understand that but I just think it’s very distracting and not fair on Stefan.

I have loved seeing Ellie and vitos social media and think Vito is such a caring and supportive person, perfect for her! But I do agree, it’s a it uncomfortable watching the feedback and worrying how she is. It’s great to see a DS person in the show, but I’ll be ready for her to go in a couple weeks!

I agree. I’ll probably be flamed for saying this but it feels like the BBC are exploiting her to show how inclusive they are without considering her additional needs. It’s lovely to see her dance but I find the clauditorium parts concerning watch as she does seem to be struggling at times.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/10/2025 12:31

@autumngirl714 yes I agree with regard to Stefan. He’s not getting the same experience as everybody else. There’s no way she can rehearse tricky choreography, lifts etc

Completely agree, it’s very different to having a physically disabled celeb, and it feels exploitative.

SaratogaFilly · 07/10/2025 12:35

Dianne uploaded on her Instagram stories of a woman dancing professionally about 7 months pregnant. It didn’t seem right.

Never been pregnant. From what friends who have DC have told me is that you cannot determine what your pregnancy journey is going to be. It could be sickness to month 7, hospitalisation for many weeks to no complications. Doesn’t matter what your DM or any sisters had either.

autumngirl714 · 07/10/2025 16:21

Just to add to my last comment as well, I know a lot of people would say that they will tailor moves to keep it safe for Diane etc or perhaps dance certain routines…. But I just feel like why should the celeb have to tailor their approach? Vito is tailoring to Ellie, dianne to Chris last year, giovanni to rose etc…. But why is it fair for the celeb to have to do it?
like I said, I’m a huge Diane fan, and I really hope she returns next year! But I really think she should’ve taken a back seat this year to keep it fair!

ListsWonderfulLists · 07/10/2025 16:30

I normally just lurk on these threads but popping out to in support of Dianne continuing to dance. I'm a dance teacher and was happily dancing until 8 months pregnant with my first. I remember doing a double pirouette at 36 weeks. If you're active, the normal advice is you can keep doing what you're used to for as long as you feel able. I agree that high lifts are unlikely but I don't think Stefan would manage those anyway.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 07/10/2025 18:00

I really like Stefan and will be disappointed when he's voted out.

chaosmaker · 08/10/2025 00:34

I subscribe to Action Jacqueline and she kept doing her yoga pretty much until she was full term including doing a photo shoot with a handstand in at about 8 months pregnant. She's got a whole series of post partum yoga too. Not sure how demanding that is compared to dance? Although she's also trained in ballet and been a professional cheerleader in the past.

RandomGeocache · 08/10/2025 08:40

I have no doubt that Diane will be able to keeeeeeeep dancing right until the end of her pregnancy, assuming her health is good. She is super fit and dances probably every day.

But even if she could potentially do a beautiful waltz or rumba, they are not going to let her partner chuck her around in a charleston or samba.

TrickySparkles · 08/10/2025 10:11

She’ll be able to dance pregnant (assuming no complications) - I don’t think anyone would question that and she should be in the professional dances eyc. I think the issue is she’s suppose to be teaching stefan to dance and no matter how super fit capable etc she is it will change how they can perform together and will mean things are adapted for them which as others have said isn’t the way around it should be (pros should be adapting to celebrities needs but not really vice versa). So things like lifts are obviously but also things like ballroom positioning if she ends up with a big bump (which is unpredictable!). She’s have to teach him
how to dance with a big bump between them so it’ll be harder for him to learn correct positioning (gapping etc).

Don’t get me wrong I’m hoping we see Diane dancing in the pro dances and music guest slots right up to the end with a massive bump - all going well she’ll be more than capable and a pregnancy shouldn’t be hidden away. However, it will change Stefans experience like it or not.

Also agree the focus is very much on Diane not him but I do think that’s not uncommon now as the pros are more celebrities than some of the celebrities!!

SaratogaFilly · 08/10/2025 14:44

Agree with all of that @TrickySparkles - feels very unfair on Stefan. He’d never win, but should have the best possible shot of going as far as possible.
