I’m really pleased for Amanda although sad for Iga. I hope Amanda wins the whole thing now - she’s already proved she can beat Aryna. An Amanda/Jessica final would also be fun for the fans!

I’m disappointed that I missed Lore in his all black kit but not surprised by the scoreline - he’s done better than expected in this tournament though

Sorry that was confusing- yes they are this year; but they didnt last year. Some excuse about the Olympics. Players weren't happy.

But I can definitely imagine a scenario where they scrap it- and see nothing wrong with a tone deaf alternative.

I've justturned my tv on - and the replay of Lore/Jannik is showing. I'll ignore the 4-0 scoreline in the first set, and focus on how lovely Lore looks in his kit (I don't think many players pull off and all black kit, some look a bit grubby ).

I think even the best players have learnt to just shrug and take it on the chin when they are the receiving end of a thrashing from Sinner.

I'm not too surprised by the scoreline in the Jannik-Lore match, sadly. Particularly on a hard court it was always a massive mountain to climb. Lore seemed to be trying to channel Roger with the black kit, too bad he wasn't able to channel Roger's tennis. I do hope some more players come along who can step up and challenge Jannik, because I find these straight sets beatdowns pretty joyless. I have still not forgiven Bublik for not turning up against him after playing so well earlier in the tournament. The match with Shapo was an unexpected highlight though.

Amanda's win over Iga was massively impressive. That Wimbledon final could have led to huge mental baggage. For her to pick herself up and get a dominant win a few weeks later is amazing. I don't think Iga was at her best - her serve in particular was shaky - but I take nothing away from Amanda and hope she can win the whole thing. It's a shame that her SF against Naomi is a night match because it should be a good one.

I agree that, mentally, for Amanda to come back from the Wimbledon final loss, which was so much more than your average loss, and play like she did against Iga - was great.

I would like to see the Amanda/Naomi match too - Naomi is really starting to find her game again.

Jannik being a bot is getting a bit boring- but if ends up playing Djok in the final, I won't complain.

Raahh, normally I don't want to see a bagel set in a final, but I am prepared to make a special exception for Djok. Particularly if it is immediately followed by an on court retirement announcement
I am cross that we again have to suffer him in a semifinal, and against Carlos who has been known to fall for his mind fuckery. When playing Djok I feel like there's a whole swathe of players who just massively underperform.

I'm hoping Cock doesn't get anywhere near the final! Would love Carlos to give him a straight sets drubbing!

Hopefully Carlos will give Djok a drubbing in the semis - Carlos does seem more focussed and is becoming a bit more wary of Djok and his shenanigans - I think that Carlos is such an open person that he can’t understand that others might not be entirely honest about their ‘injuries’

Apparently Amanda rewatched her Wimbledon final before her match with Iga - that must have been a tough watch for her - really pleased that she managed to erase those demons

Just switched on to the Men's Doubles - I hope Joe and Neal get through.
They were diplomatic about the mixed doubles event, (Joe having won mixed a mixed title). Saying what everyone thought - that it was right Sara and Andrea won.

DS has somehow cribbed off an ESPN world feed. There is Colin Fleming, Adam Fielder and a yank, none of whom have shut up since we turned it on. They were talking about a women's singles match just now I wish they'd shut up!!

They are labubu dolls, creepy little Japanese things that are sold are sold as toys (and you can't get them - not that my dc want them), Naomi has them as key chain things on her kit bag, and has managed to make them look not so bad. Ish.
