As I say, this is the countdown to the end, now we're in the last week of the series. I think it finishes on 4th Aug... Just over a week away.

No clear winner(s) at the moment really, quite a few unlikeable contestants, and lots of arguments and discord! I'm almost looking forward to this series ending to be honest! 😆

Gosh it was like an episode of a Mills and Boon novel tonight!

I don't think its about winning 25K each. I think its about their exposure after LI?

Shakira is 22. I remember thinking I was in love at that age and accepting very bad behaviour from complete players. Gemma Owens was young but she had a privileged lifestyle with a lot of life experience.. Shakira is an ordinary girl living an ordinary life. She works in marketing and is a children's entertainer. Harry isn't ordinary - he's a gold trader, he's a semi pro footballer, a model and a body double for Declan Rice. Outside of LI, Shakira wouldn't have much if any contact with somebody like Harry. Inside the fishbowl of LI, her mind must be blown by someone like him being interested in her. Harry has done what he can to salvage his reputation. I'd love Shakira and Toni to win the money because theirs has been the only authentic, real relationship in there.

Who can win now?

Meg and Dijon? - A very unpopular couple.
Cach and Toni? - Unlikely. He's playing a game. She hasn't had 'the journey' with him.
Yas and Jamie? - An incredibly boring couple not to mention Yas comes across as deluded but at least she has gumption.
Blu and Helena? - Both very unlikeable.
Conor and Megan? - An unfair choice as somebody voted off shouldn't have come back in with knowledge of the public and knowing how to sway the game.
Angel and whoever picked her tongiht? - Can't even remember who picked her and she's not memorable either.

Who can actually win this?

But if Harry picked Shakira, what is she supposed to do? You presumably can’t say ‘no thanks’ and be single. Maybe she’s sticking it out for the last week with him because other than walking, what else is she to do. It’s an extra week of a holiday with your pals if anything. Hopefully she doesn’t actually let him back in romantically although I can see it happening and then her chances of actually winning are scuppered. It will be interesting to see what her family have to say- I really hope they tell her straight that he isn’t worth the agg and she sees the light.

I really felt for Helena tonight. I know she was an arsehole going after Harry when he was with Shakira but I think over the last few weeks, she’s naturally developed feelings for him. Part of me thinks she should have known what he was like since the signs were always there and I think she probably did question his true feelings for her at times, but was just living in hope that all the nice stuff he has probably been saying to her was genuine enough.

I really hope Shakira doesn’t give him another chance romantically.

It doesn’t matter IMO. It wasn’t that she did it, it was the way she went about it. It was absolutely awful - making jokes about wearing the bikini, pulling Ty when she couldn’t give a monkeys about him. She was really horrible towards Shakira.

It’s a game and going after someone else’s partner is par for the course but she didn’t just do that - she gloated and twisted the knife.

It’s hard to see anyone as distressed as she appeared to be tonight but I really feel that Shakira is behaving with a hell of a lot more sensitivity than Helena deserves.

I think Toni and Cach or Yasmin and Jamie will win. It’ll be very strange if Yasmin and Jamie do though as I feel like they’ll be the winning couple with the least exposure ever!

But if Harry picked Shakira, what is she supposed to do?

And Shakira is just about to do what her and Toni have been accusing Helena of and bitching and sneering about her for doing for the past four weeks.

I don’t see how Shakira could’ve won it anyway? Connor’s back with Megan and she’s hardly gonna go for Blu. She’s popular but not been going for the win herself as evidenced by her not faking it to stick with Connor. I don’t think this latest twist with Harry has sunk her chances of winning any more than they were, but it gives her a final week in the villa that might be fractionally better than being with Blu and provide some kind of end point to her ‘journey’ in there, and it doesn’t remotely tie her into anything longer term with Harry. I’m looking forward to their parents meeting as Harry’s mum was as cross with him as Shakira’s mum will be so that should be fun.

I agree with the PPs who say Helena’s feelings were more about losing the pick me situation than any truly deep love for Harry. She’s hurt and he treated her like shit, but that was quite evident all along and she put up with it thinking it was worth it to have him. I didn’t like the BS being said around how Harry would be different if he was with the right girl. It’s that crap that makes women think they can be the one to fix flawed men, and makes it the woman’s fault if the men stray. It was Harry’s fault and he’ll keep doing it, but overall it makes sense for him to end the show with Shakira… if they even make it another day!

Did Megan say something in the make up room to Meg implying that Meg has said bad things about other people? I feel like there was some throwaway comment just as she walked out that made Meg think she’d not come across great on tv, but I was distracted by family so may have got wires crossed.

As for who’ll win… hate to say it cos of the unfair advantage but the most genuine couple in there currently seems to be Connor and Megan. Doubt they’ll have the fans as they’ve both scored low but if it was solely on love potential, they’d win. I’d probably vote Cach and Toni, but still fear M&D might sneak it. All I can say is it won’t be Helena and Blu!

Looks like they’re very much back on. They were flirting and I think she was sitting on his lap - maybe not but it looked close. He was trifling to kiss her and she was pulling/turning away coyly.

Well I did see after sun and you can’t argue that Shakira has got a smile on her face and getting her spark back. If anyone deserves to win she does.

I have a friend like this though. In a totally dysfunctional marriage and goes all giddy when they’re back on track - until she gets a text he’s been unfaithful again.

@Sleighmyname86 she did it to her twice and the second time was a few weeks in. Plus it wasn't just talking, it was trying to persuade him into the hideaway.

I think the last week is normally fairly dull with the inevitable embarrassing dates isn't it. Can't remember if they ditched the baby challenge in recent years. Is it too late to consider any bombshells? 🤔

If Harry and Shakira make it until the end, they might be in with a shout of winning. On After Sun, the islanders who left this week (including Emma) seemed convinced of the connection between the two. However, I've no doubt that he'll break Shakira's heart once they leave the villa.

I think the producers will want to keep the momentum going with the drama this year, hoping for some more twists.

I still cannot get on board with Megan and Conor potentially winning due to the unfair advantage.

At this point, I'm leaning towards Toni and Cach as the winners.

As an aside. I am so glad they ditched the crying baby thing but with the parents coming in tomorrow (shown on aftersun) does this mean there is no talent show this year or is it normally in the last week? I know it’s insanely cringey but I actually find it very entertaining albeit awful.. plus I really want to see Cach show off some more of his moves.

Otherwise the last week is just the utterly awful fake, fawning soft focus final dates 🤢. Bring on the talent show for a laugh!! (And what talents will they be displaying?) A posture lesson from Yas? Football display from Harry? I can’t recall what too many of the others do actually?!

What have Toni and Shakira been accusing Helena of doing?

Early in the series when Harry and Helena snuck off to the hideaway, Shakira sacked it off and did not continue to pursue Harry.

The second time Shakira and Harry were together, she had no idea of the sneaky nature of the convos that were taking place between Helena & Harry until that challenge where Meg said Harry was fake for playing two girls. Once Shakira realised she was in a love triangle, she broke it off (again).

Every time Harry has been with Helena, Shakira has backed off. Every time Harry has been with Shakira, Helena has relentlessly pursued him. They are not the same.

Helena clearly gained a lot of validation and satisfaction from thinking that Harry ‘chose’ her over Shakira. Now she’s realising that Harry went with her because Shakira sacked him off. She was never his first choice, she was the convenient option.

It’s a shitty situation for Helena but you reap what you sow.

Shakira will lose a lot of respect but she is young and in my opinion very immature.

I did feel for Helena, she believed Harry to be genuine and clearly liked him a lot.
Shakira has now seen ALL that Harry is capable of and seems ready and willing to go back to him.

Weepy music was working overtime tonight. I'm not falling for your propaganda, producers. Harry is a liar, actress and can definitely gtfo - alone and not with Shakira.

Highlight for me was Blu getting pied twice in ten minutes, then being at the recoupling just to be the last boy picking. He read the room with his usual good sense of tact about Helena always being up for a laugh while she stood there miserable and broken-hearted.

Also the girls' big unity chat then cutting instantly to Meg and Angel whispering in the changing rooms, lol.

Harry in floods of tears as the extent of his lying caught up to him. It was always you, blah blah blah... Let the lovebombing commence. I suspected this would happen but I haaaate ittttt. It's the final week and Shakira has no real option but to entertain it. I hope her family might knock some sense into her.

Helena crying, Harry not bothering to console her when he's caused this entire fuckery, her consoling him instead and him making out like he's the victim... When a doormat meets a wall. The audacity of this mullet-headed menace - he's not even attractive enough to warrant this madness 😩

Well there’s no one other than Blu for her to couple up with, and she’s already pied him off (and he’s just been a dick to her best friend) so I don’t think she’s a mug to couple up with Harry, but she certainly would be a mug to give it a go and think it might work.

I wouldn’t lose any respect her though. She’s only 22 and there’s probably still a part of her that thinks he might change for her. It’s a lack of experience and tbh, it’s not the worst thing in the world to learn that lesson the hard way (while putting herself in the only position in which she’s capable of winning!).
