We're in the middle of the long hot Summer of 2025. CORONATION STREET THREAD. **No spoilers please.**

You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

It is a shame that one of the few decent characters has suddenly decided to become a criminal. Even worse we get the nonsense explanation, all he had to do was tell his dad. He is a young lad, literally watching the shop, it should not have been up to him to rescue the business.

He truly is the most wonderful person in the whole universe

His acting is abysmal. He mumbles his lines and talks too fast. I still like watching him. Even Bernie and Dev together is great although I know some don't agree.

I have not missed Dev.

Oh I love Dev. He's a bit marmite though isn't he?

I also like Sean quite a lot, but he seems to be loathed on some social media. Esepcially Twitter/X.

Sam (Nick's son) looks about 6 years older than he did 6 months ago.

He's had quite the growth spurt.

Same with David's daughter Lily, and her 'new head.' She looks 6 years older than she did 6 months ago too! 😆

I am liking Lauren and Aadi together.

In what Universe would Theo and David be going for a drink together!!!

I'm quite concerned about Gary. He should be in hospital or at least having home visits from Dr Gadass.
I saw somewhere that Aggie should return with a new head. There should be a nurse on the street.

I was puzzled by that too. I don't recall them having any scenes or chats before. I suppose Theo could be taking advice on how to maintain his Lego man hairstyle 😀😆😁

On reflection re my light-hearted comments on David/Theo hair:

The writers missed a golden opportunity there to inject a much needed moment of humour into Corrie. 🙄

Just watching 24 hours in police custody, apparently if you sell alcohol in a corner shop you have to have CCTV so another silly story from the writers.

I suppose they could have said it’s broken but would have probably shown Aadi's face in the camera turning it off

Did Aldi actually spike Lauren's drink? I honestly can't remember who did what and where at the "party" I thought she just picked up a random drink containing someone else's drugs. Not really sure why Aldi is carrying all the guilt.

From what I remember, they put drugs into three glasses. One for Summer, one for Nina and one for Aadi. Then Asha appeared and said that one of Aadi's friends had been sick upstairs and he left to go and sort it out. Then Lauren picked up his drink, without knowing about the drug obviously, and Aadi started panicking when he returned and couldn't find it. I think Lauren may have already left by that time?

Aadi should stop lying as his cute little fresh face ain't built for it.

He also has no need to lie. Lauren would probably be happy to know how she got spiked and that it was an accident. Quite literally, worse things happen to her all the bloody time. If she does not accept it then she should be reminded that perhaps she should have thought about the random drink she picked up.

He also has no need to lie to his dad who should have been checking up on his business. Aadi is a kid who was minding the shop.

For the second time I’ve found myself dropping off during Corrie. It really is so dull at the moment.

Aadi is one of the few really likeable characters at the moment. Wish they'd give him and Lauren a happy story. But they won't, I bet.

Yes they seem to forget that viewers like a happy romance and a wedding. It’s all Shakespearean drama and gangs!

When was the last time we even saw a wedding?

I'm so fed up of all the doom and gloom and crime and misery. It doesn't need to be all sunshine and rainbows but at least give us a little normality and humour.
