You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. Grin And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!Smile

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

Sorry if I've missed anything!

I'm sure the conversion therapy storyline is an important issue, but I just don't care about Theo, and it's just annoying me. I hardly looked at the screen last night, I was so bored with the whole thing.

He's a very unlikeable character and hasn't been in the programme long enough for anyone to be invested in his story.

Definitely something going on with Lily and Sam. She was giving him some very meaningful looks, just before he went and hid under the desk.

Why was Leanne at Audrey's birthday celebration?

I did laugh when they were giving her their gift and Sarah gave her a silk scarf, Leanne gave her a posh bottle of bubbly - and David and Shona giving her a Freshco voucher.

Edited

I wondered why Leanne was at Audrey's 85th birthday do, but then it clicked. She was with Nick for some time, and was a stepmum to Sam. Even though she and Nick have split, she very likely still feels like his stepmum. So there's that link. A bit tenuous, but a bit of a link! 😆

Why is Sam traumatised? I feel I may have missed a scene or two. Is it linked to Mick and the school rampage?

Also, yeah the intervention by the religious fanatics was a bit wacky. It would be in some remote house, not in the community centre.

Who the f*ck is Noah?

Sam's auntie has just become his new mum and his cousin has been replaced by an imposter

Noah is somebody from Theo's church who tried to make him straight twenty years ago and since then likes to hang out with a bunch of guys and talk about not having gay sex.

HurdyGurdy19 · 24/07/2025 22:29

Interesting that on tonight's news is a feature on man who is the first to receive compensation for receiving conversion therapy. Apparently it is still happening, which is shocking. So maybe Corrie is doing a relevant, current, storyline after all.

VERY tenuous link for Leanne to be at Audrey's birthday do, but I suppose they had to have a reason for her to be in the Bistro so that she would be the one to find Sam. I think that his withdrawal probably has something to do with Mick being on the rampage at his school, but I do wonder if there is something underlying between him and Lily, which has been exacerbated by the school situation.

I chortled when I read the comment about who the f*ck is Noah, hearing Roy Chubby Brown doing his parody of Living Next Door to Alice. (I don't like RCB, but I've heard clips of it.)

"Alice? Alice? Who the f*ck is Alice" 😂

Noah is the church "leader" who was performing the "exorcism" at the community centre.

zanahoria · 25/07/2025 09:19

Noah is one of those names that have become popular very quickly but never met one his age. I am guessing they wanted to give him an old testament vibe

zanahoria · 25/07/2025 09:21

Nick and Leanne are suddenly all concerned about Sam but they moved him into the flat where his mum was killed

hadn't he been kidnapped as well?

and they wonder why he is traumatized?

JMSA · 25/07/2025 12:10

Why on earth is George still staying at Eileen’s house?
Does the man have no pride?! 🤦‍♀️

and why is Todd talking about getting his own place?

Deadringer · 25/07/2025 16:06

Yes Sam has been through losing his mum to murder, moving in with a father he barely knew, being kidnapped, having fishwife leanne as a stepmother and moany faced Toyah as his aunt, only for those positions to be reversed, having scary Hope as a girlfriend then being dumped by same for the one legged, very wooden puppet that is our Jack, I have probably left lots out, but being chased by murderer Mick must be a walk in the park after that lot. If he is scared of Lily, she must be a complete psycho.

I think of him as being a proper snowflake, as he always seemed mollycoddled by those around him.
I admit to eyerolling when he was under the office desk 🤣
That’s probably unfair of me, given what he has been through. I think when a character is a bit annoying, it can cloud your perception of them.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 25/07/2025 18:07

I’m sorry (not sorry) but find Sam extremely irritating 🤷‍♀️

Me too, I know I should have empathy for him, but he just irritates me.

thenightsky · 25/07/2025 20:30

Time Sam disappeared to wherever Simon went. And quick, before he becomes involved in drugs or robbing the Kabin or something.

HurdyGurdy19 · 25/07/2025 20:34

Are Dev and Berni having financial problems? This gift from auntie being "the answer to all our problems"? I thought Dev was minted, having the shop and Prima Doner. And doesn't he own the chippy as well?

NCTDN · 25/07/2025 20:36

I don’t get why Bernie thinks bringing the wedding forward helps either ?

HurdyGurdy19 · 25/07/2025 20:38

Who owns Eileen's house? Did she buy it, or is it rented?

So Aadi's fear of his dad finding out about the insurance claim bollocks is all going to be solved by the very convenient £25k wedding gift which Bernie will syphon off to repay the stolen cash from the safe and Dev will never look at his insurance policy and find out the truth.

I've got a headache now. 🥺

carmak · 25/07/2025 23:33

Bernie is really stupid.

SabreIsMyFave · 25/07/2025 23:46

Agree. Bernie's 'plan' is beyond daft. Oh, and Mason/Logan/Brady/Brody/Shady, (whatever Lou's eldest child is called) is now probably going to 'get a few shifts at the garage.' Oh what a wonderful place to live is Coronation Street! Just get a place to live and a job so easily and quickly. And ALWAYS in the street! The garage, The Bistro, The pub, The factreh. Always a job somewhere there for a newbeh! Lovely................ 😍

Yes, that puzzled me a bit too. I mean £25K is a nice little sum, but it's not life changing for most. If it had been like £500K, that would have been a bit different.

Dev owns the shop, the kebab place and the rarely seen chip shop but he does seem to have recurring financial problems when the plot requires them.

Is he still paying for that forlorn pursuit of having his daughter's naked photos taken down from the internet?
