😂ah, yes Alima & Ben! How did that momentary lapse in Alima's judgement slip my mind?! @AFrolicOfMyOwn it just seems like a cynical move by both of them. I don't think either of them actually fancies the other one, they just know they need to couple up. Maybe I have missed something though?

I can't understand how anyone could be attracted to Ben after his behaviour.... I really don't get it at all.

Poor Alima was my first thought, she deserves so much better 😂 Hopefully she'll find someone more suited in Casa rather than settling for Ben!

Agree with all of this! Really would love Meg & Helena to have their smug smiles wiped off their faces. Bring on decent men for Shakira, Toni & Yasmin (who has massively grown on me). I’d kick out all the men except Dejon, Conor & Harrison (as he’s good entertainment!)

I'm not so sure there will be Casa, the sleepover was similar. They would need a lot of spare contestants and if the new lad has been selected as a bombshell they'd be scraping the barrell. He's nice enough

@Moremustard I think they’ll be a casa, but I think it’ll probably be soon & won’t make much impact considering theres barely any couples.

The fact that the women seemed to enjoy the Heart Rate Challenge made me think there must be something wrong with my head - as I found it appalling.

Maybe the new guy is a friend of production as well as Dorothy.

Alima did shock me with the Ben kiss, the bar in on the floor with that one.

Ryan seems nice and I love his accent too but I think the girls he dated seem to have friend zoned him. Hopefully he’ll hit it off with someone but I’m not sure who.

I reckon Shakira needs someone who can hold a decent conversation yet has a certain playfulness that definitely isn’t immaturity. So maybe someone intelligent with a good sense of humour would work. I’m quick-tempered and DH is the opposite which is an antidote. I think Toni could work with someone similar.

Hair extensions are nothing... I think we're seeing far less implants/filler etc now and the girls look much more natural.

Obviously they are still having stuff done, but mostly not those over filled duck lips which seem to migrate over their faces or huge fake boobs.

I don’t disagree, @CellophaneFlower - but it still makes me sad to see black women in particular compelled to add yards and yards of stringy stuff to their heads in order to be deemed acceptable. They’re not wearing any recognisable style at all, and those formless sheets of ‘hair’ rarely suit people’s actual faces.

Why is that the only style the producers will allow? The women could look so much more beautiful and dignified with any of a million other hairstyles.

@AFrolicOfMyOwn as far as I can tell, nearly every woman in there has hair extensions. I'm trying to think of one that doesn't and struggling.

I don't think it's what the producers will allow... but more that a lot of women like to have longer hair. Occasionally you do get somebody like Millie Court, who had a bob, or Kaz, who rocked a pixie cut when she returned for allstars and I think they look great, but I do see long hair on most young women I encounter.

It's also much more common to see older women with long hair these days too - back in the day they tended to hit 40 and get the chop as it was thought to be ageing.

Personally I'd love to have much longer hair... but mine is really fine and wouldn't take the weight of extensions. Anything I had to attach myself would also end up skew whiff as I'm not good at things like that (can't even do stick on lashes) so have to keep my hair at a manageable length or it turns into rat's tails 🙈

Does Shakira have extensions? Hers looks very natural.

@LittleGreenDuck I would say both Emily and Shakira add extensions or weaves or whatever they are called at certain times. If you look at Shakira's profile for LI, her hair is much longer and thicker in the promo material than we often see it.

Gen Z-ers like the contestants had a far more tech-based adolescence, unlike those of us who are a bit older, who didn’t have all the social media platforms - and not even the front facing camera for the selfie! These two things have influenced how, as a generation, they spend so much more money on those appearance we did when the same age. I just see the prevalence of enhancements, from hair extensions to Botox and veneers, as a result of that. Lots of LI applicants tend to be influencers too so very much on social media being influenced by it themselves and earning their money by advertising stuff like beauty products.
