Which TV characters do you hate in a show you otherwise love

Rewatching Frasier for the 39th time and everytime they are in an episode I think just how awful the characters of Daphnes brothers are, I absolutely hate them 😂

Daphne's a classic example of the manic pixie dream girl trope.

Castle's mother in Castle.

Weird over-acting, and I think we were supposed to find her beautiful or something.

Gavin and Stacey, both of them, worst characters in the show, love the rest of them but Gavin and Stacey were unbearable.

Smithy in Gavin & Stacey. Nessa should have married Dave Coaches.

Also, a film rather than TV, but Donkey from Shrek. I really dislike characters that won't stop talking

@Doitrightnow I find the Genie in Aladdin massively annoying for similar reasons. Every time I see it I just want to tell him to calm the fuck down.

Bobby Axlerod’s wife in the first few series of Billions

Ross Geller.

Ooh yes, Stacey. So irritating. Bland and irritating after the first few episodes.

She has no flaws which is completely unrealistic. Doesn’t add anything to the stories IMO. I stopped reading them after the Sandy reveal so not sure where that story went, perhaps I should catch up!

Phoebe in Friends - forever mentioning her difficult childhood and using it to guilt trip theothers. I felt they often panderedto her and tried not to upset her.

Joey in Dawson's Creek - kept 2 guys hanging on for years, forever bouncing between the 2, refusing to chose because it was too difficult for her. Very selfish.

Jenny in Cold Feet, both the original and the re-boot. Unpleasant woman.

First time watching Breaking Bad - hated Skyler, rooted for Walter

Second time - hated Walter, rooted for Skyler. You clearly see Walter was a nasty piece of work from the start, whereas first time round this doesn't come across so obviously (IMO)

I've just started a third rewatch (this is my favourite series of all time) so let's see!

Woody in Cheers. Except the Kelly Song, which stil makes me laugh. But I was so, so bored by “look how funny the stupid guy is”.

I’m currently watching Dexter with ds2 (adult! Before any pearls are clutched) and he would definitely agree on Debs.
DS1 hated Derek in Grey’s Anatomy (I, on the other hand, have a bit of a soft spot for McDreamy 😂). I really didn’t love Christina, although the actress plays her brilliantly.

Det. Olivia Benson, now Capt. Benson in Law and Order SVU.

Loved her in the early series but she's terrible now, the rest of the characters are awful too.

Storylines are now so boring I switch channels within about 15 mins, given up watching at all now. Shame as it was such good TV for years. 🙁

Much as I loved Frasier (the sitcom, not just the lead character!) I agree Daph's brothers were the weak link. How come she's got a Mancunian accent and they sound like they're cockneys?!

Couldn’t stand Daenerys in Game of Thrones ever since she burned that witch who’d been sexually abused by all the men and her further scenes didn’t endear me to her.

Also I don’t like Joe in You but I guess that’s not totally unexpected given he’s a mass murderer

Some of them you're not supposed to like? Like Patsy in Ab Fab that someone mentioned. She's funny because she's so awful.

Same with Daphne's brothers with the multiple different accents, they're supposed to be that annoying. Probably that's why Daphne moved to the USA to get away from them!

Lady Mary in Downton. Thought she was just a nasty piece of work with the occasional redeeming moment.

Mickey Mouse - any show he's in. Irritating, self-righteous prick. So smug.

I watch Will Trent on Disney+ and although I love Gina Rodriguez, her character Marion sucked. She utterly failed as a person after Will fucked up at work (no spoilers!). I'm glad she's not currently in it.
