Go to one of their fan websites and read the obsessive drivel written by women who sound about 15 years old. That is what I have just done and it is cringe making. My current interest is 56 years old and surely can't be admired by teenagers, yet the comments he attracts are so immature. Perhaps I am getting old. I am only just 40 though!

Sorry, not deliberately being coy: went off the internet last night to spend it with my love interest (he wasn't on TV before you grab the schedules; I watched him on DVD)

Funny you shoud mention Alan Rickman and Martin Shaw as I find them quite attractive too and often think of them as contemporaries of my man. But no, you can have them beansprout and motherinferior.

I think I can speak on behalf of MI and say that Mr Shaw and Mr Rickman have, without a doubt, long since been claimed by the pair of us.

Brit! Not probably many people's idea of a heart throb, but I am a crusty old 40 year old and appreciate the subtler things in men as well as the phoar factor! (which this man doesn't really have). Lovely actor. Talented. Classical.

Oh I have long had an admiration for Derek Jacobi! I used to make a point of going to see whatever he was in at the theatre. Happy days.

Those last two are more the same sort of actor as my man, I feel. Does anyone elso profess a fancy for the older man? I see so many threads extolling the virtues of men I have never heard of before and when I google them I realise I am nearly old enough to be their mother! I don't want to come out about my man unless I know I am in good company!

No, Derek Jacobi isn't my current obsession, but I would still make a point of watching him on TV and if you ever get the chance to see him in a theatre, you should as he is a brilliant, charismatic actor live.
