Go to one of their fan websites and read the obsessive drivel written by women who sound about 15 years old. That is what I have just done and it is cringe making. My current interest is 56 years old and surely can't be admired by teenagers, yet the comments he attracts are so immature. Perhaps I am getting old. I am only just 40 though!

Oooh David Essex now thats another one to add to my list, those lovely twinkley eyes, he must be an age now and he's still got it!!!

Lonelymum · 15/01/2005 20:38

Oh I wish I could do links and I could link the picture of MK looking like DE here and you could really appreciate his finer points, or alternatively, go to bed with a reminder of David.

Well, quite hard to explain - more of a superior/long suffering look about him and turning every situation into a detective scenario - even down to where the missing anywayup cup went in the caravan. (God knows we've always got at least three of them missing at any one time!)'Foyle would've said/done this blah blah' And wherever we went..'Bet he was here..' 'Boots' in the towncentre - unlikely, hon!

Will decline your very generous offer of the loan of dvd's on dh's behalf due to his (or is that our ) embarressing track record of returning lent things. Thank you anyway!

Lonelymum · 15/01/2005 20:51

Ooh, contact the script writers in case they are running short of crime ideas. Foyle investigates the missing anywayup cup, was it genuinely mislaid or did Nazi spies steal it mistaking it for the RAF's latest communication system?

Wasn't sure I was offering you the loan of the DVDs! {blush] Just letting you know they can be bought!

Oh God, whoops, sorry Lonelymum - still thanks for letting us know!

Yes, pretty hot stoyline there re. the missing cup, it's true!

Agree about David Essex too. Remember him in 'That'll be the Day'? YUMMY

Lonelymum · 15/01/2005 21:00

And he is another one with a gorgeous voice, and stunning looks (never forget him on Top of the Pops singing I'm gonna make you a star). His philosophy on life is a bit alternative for me though.

Have I mentioned - ooops, yes, of course I have but no harm in mentioning it again - that I have shared a taxi with the divine Mr E?

beansprout · 16/01/2005 10:48

In that case, can I say I have been hugged by Bill Nighy?

motherinferior · 16/01/2005 10:56

I'll swop you, bean. Phwoooar. Although Mr Essex was quite lovely.

Satine · 16/01/2005 11:02

Richard E Grant in The Scarlet Pimpernel - mmmmmmmm....

Merlot · 16/01/2005 11:15

Its the voice that does it for me as far a MK is concerned

Lonelymum · 16/01/2005 12:18

Me too Merlot: I appreciate dry humour too which seems to be his forte. Ooh another fan! Glad I am not alone.

How did you come to share a taxi with DE Motherinferior? Did he pay?!

Yes Satine, I would agree about REG as the Scarlet Pimpernell. I loved one line he said (have always remembered it although only heard it once) that marriage wasn't a word, it was a sentence! Loved it.

motherinferior · 16/01/2005 12:28

It was work-related. And I think work paid. It's all a bit of a blur

Lonelymum · 16/01/2005 12:29

Did you talk to him? Stupid question! I can't imagine you sat there in silence!

Just caught up with this. Lonelymum, I had the lifesize Professionals poster too! I stayed at my Dad's a couple of years ago and found it rolled up at the back of a cupboard. I 'lent' it to my friend who works in 'law enforcement' (won't say exactly what)for her office as she actually met Lewis Collins when she was a teenager. Her uncle is an actor and she went to the set with him when he was in an episode of the Professionals. You can guess how jealous I was!

jane313 · 16/01/2005 22:37

A school friend had a dream about Lewis Collins wearing a backless (ie no skirt either) powder blue eveing dress. I cannot ever think about him without thinking about this.

I wonder what ever happened to him

pixel · 17/01/2005 00:00

I think he went to America.
