No tennis for me today as I had to go into the office and now taken DD to drama. Pleased for Jack that he’s through although sad that it’s because Matteo had to retire. Very intrigued by the outfit descriptions!

Chessie re- the outfit, I've seen the top described as a pillow case. That's a pretty good description really.

It's like the challenge on Sewing Bee trnsformation challenge- 'here, make a tennis kit out of a pillow case and some old dentist tabards'.

Haven't seen any tennis today and there were loads of Brits playing in both singles and doubles. Amused by the musings on here, as always

I have a theory that Djok stands a better chance in 5 set matches than he does in 3 set ones (was probably true of Rafa on clay, if I'm being totally honest and impartial) - since the newbies don't have as much experience.
Plus, he's now lost early in nearly all the tounrnaments he has played this year. He will want to reduce the number of times that happens.

Not that I really care ,and I always like tournaments without him.

I think that’s probably true Raahh. Best of 5 always seems very tactical and Djok has so much experience of playing those long matches. I do think (hope) he’s going to start to struggle with stamina though.

Yes, I think he's struggling physically more, (hard to tell with his 'injuries' at times' but some of the younger players don't seem to quite have the staying power that the previous generations did either.

I am worried that 5 set matches might become a thing of the past- and I hope not, because there is something special about them.

This sums up everything I feel when I watch Casper .
