I can't think of a decent title

Lauren reminds me of a Stepford wife

Paul was only allowed to stay coz the ixperts felt sorry for Carina and coz they were one of the strongest couples

It sends a message that not only should women accept this, they should try to fix the men

For goodness sake give it a rest Paul - you’re a violent man - end of. Thank god it wasn’t her face he hit.

Edited

That will be the next time if she doesn’t get out now

Ilovetowander · 07/04/2025 23:08

I don't think it's ever good to start punching walls but I don't think the necessarily translates to someone becoming violent towards a partner. Every circumstance is different and in this instance I think Paul seems distraught. I think drawing under a line underneath his action is needed.

She’d probably take that as a compliment. 😄

I think Jacqui is an alien who before coming to earth was just given a very rough description of how to human.

A non violent man does not punch anything.

This excusing of male violence is so pervasive and toxic. Woman are constantly told to accept the completely unacceptable. JFC

BippidyBoppety · 08/04/2025 00:04

Morena seemed furious with all the other couples too - her "Did you really think I wasn't going to come, did you really think I was going to let him have the last word" was delivered with such anger ... I don't know what she hoped to achieve by that performance. She looked foolish, her constant deflection that it was her age that was off-putting (rather than her spiteful, menacing attitude). Glad she's gone.

Yeh ok …….

SpectatorInLife · 08/04/2025 07:49

I didn't like that episode- so much bad behaviour left unchallenged...... I don't like the injustice of it. Morena's misplaced fury and complete lack of self-awareness and she was just allowed to totter off without any straight talking; Paul's crocodile tears and snivelling "i've never done this before" enabled to stay on the show... Adrian not held accountable for having not made any effort whatsoever to "step up" in the previous week after Awhina had chosen to Leave; Crazy Eyes Jacqui's deluded, smug smirking over Rhi's apology was not explored; Lauren's "alpha male"manipulation strategy- it's like Clint was being told to man up for her....
I ask it every year, but when they do not call out these behaviours, WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE IXPERTS?

loveawineloveacrisp · 08/04/2025 08:24

God I don't know if I'll bother catching up after that summary @SpectatorInLife !

Yes I agree re Clint. He was made to feel he should change when he’s doing nothing wrong. Wth? She’s the one with an unusual request. I’d argue that she hadn’t done the washing or the dishes so that’s we he did them!

He was still saying her behaviour caused it . He was still mostly upset for himself not Carina. She is still confusing passion with control.

Agree. At least they said they’d get him help.

MargoLivebetter · 08/04/2025 08:39

Well, what a strange episode! Dishes, delusion, deceit, drama and data centres!

Morena is a moron. She could so easily have shown what a spineless, easy-ride kind of guy Tony was, but instead she was all bitter and twisted about things, so she came off as a loony drama queen.

Lauren is coming across as barking mad now too. She seriously baulked at a man doing the washing up. She clearly has no idea what an alpha male is, she just wants a Neanderthal type (and I'm probably doing a disservice to Neanderthals).

Awina must have Stockholm Syndrome, she is so delusional! I honestly have no clue what is going on with her now.

Whoever suggested that the Grinch and the Giant Thumb should go to Tasmania naked covered in honey has it spot on. They are both such giant weirdos that I can't get any normal kind of measure on what they are up to.

Veronica is coming across as a bit deceitful or dishonest now tbh. What she is saying just isn't making sense. She didn't seem like a nutter when we first met her. I wonder if she has been told to behave a certain way. It just seems really odd.

As for Paul, well that really, really pained me to watch. I had got overwhelming ex-H vibes from him. Ex-H had a horrible temper and loved punching doors and making massive scenes, throwing his weight around in a threatening and violent way. He frightened the DC so much once I had to call the Police, the silly fuck. Then afterwards it would be histrionic tears turning himself into the victim and trying to coerce me into feeling sorry for him. Toxic stuff. The piss poor ixperts and directors of the show should have removed Paul immediately. I was pretty disgusted by it all.

FergoMcFergFace · 08/04/2025 08:58

Paul really thought the experts would have at least an iota of sympathy for him when he explained he thought Carina's apology was insincere. And then his cloying self-deprecation when he thought Alessandra was concerned that he'd hurt his hand. 🙄

von1471 · 08/04/2025 09:02

Surely they can see that Adrian is shutting Awhina down as she can hardly string 2 words together except to praise Adrian. Yet the ‘experts’ are just sitting there letting him get away with it - ridiculous! Have they never heard of emotional abuse?

Lauren - with her views I reckon she’s definitely a time traveller from a different century.

FergoMcFergFace · 08/04/2025 09:05

I wonder how Lauren would have reacted had Clint pulled her up on her nasty remarks about the other women when they did the ranking task. Would that have been too alpha? Interesting that that never made it to the commitment ceremony
I'm not sure what she said was any better than Jake's performance.

Agree, and even if they haven't seen the footage, the producers know exactly what's going on and I'm sure they share it with the experts before each ceremony.

Yoursselfmysselfandotherss · 08/04/2025 09:47

Well what a shit show! You’ve all pretty much covered it.

Morena - made herself look even more awful.

Adrian - busy controlling Awhina

Awhina - WTAF?

Paul - why is he still there?

Carina - run for the hills.

Lauren - batshit

TinselAngel · 08/04/2025 10:17

Rather than getting Paul help, Carina should do the Freedom Programme.

BBT213 · 08/04/2025 10:27

"Why do you want to stay Paul?"

"Because SHE asks ME about my family, MY goals, MY needs etc etc...."

Yep. Just about sums him up. He hardly mentioned her at all

Absolutely, this episode was such an uncomfortable watch. I’m having to forward through bits.
What has happened to this programme? The Ixperts did feck all, apart from pretend they don’t know what it going on.

That bloody C4 message at the end of the credits “support information for the issues raised” …what the condoning of issues raised?
