I'm thinking Jake will be murdered next, his reaction to Linda being a traitor was so genuine that I don't think anyone would suspect him of being a traitor.

As much as I want Leanne to go (she really irked me last night) she would be good to keep around as a suspect because a few people suggested her.

Just listening to the Faithful to the Traitors podcast and they are talking about all the online conspiracy of who's related.

Linda and Minah were such an amazing team. It obviously involves a lot of editing, but Linda being so hopeless made Minah look amazing. Just hilarious.

i wonder if Minah will start to lose it now people are throwing suspicion her way, and she doesn’t have someone as useless as Linda to throw under the bus?

Yes @JandamiHash it's interesting how some of the most unpleasant scenes are those directed at contestents whose colour and class are often stereotyped negatively e.g. Kas, Fozia, and now Alexander.

And before anyone talks about Minah and Leon's current success, South Asian heritage experience is different from black British experience.

Also: Linda and Fozia learned in yesterday's Uncloaked that "Leanne is not a nail technician, she's an Army officer". I thought we had been told (as viewers, so we couldn't spoil it) that she was an ex-Army officer. Do we know if she's currently serving?

More generally, I haven't worked out yet how much of what the banished/murdered players get dripfed to them is already known to the audience, and how much is "bonus" info to encourage people to watch Uncloaked as well as the main series.

I have a colleague at work who is always saying it to customers etc, I think she believes it’s rude to just say “you.”

Maybe they learned a bit of French or Spanish or German at school and think that the relationship between you:yourself must be a formal thing, like tu:vous / tu:usted / Du:Sie.

Which is interesting, because English's "you" is in fact the same as the French "vous". We all go around talking to everyone in what would be considered the "polite form" of other European languages (i.e., the plural: because the king called himself "we", meaning him and God, everyone else had to address him in the plural).

There is actually a "tu" form in English: It's thee, thou, and thy. If you read the Bible in French, you'll find that when addressing God you call him "tu".

Yourself is also rife in teaching emails or notices. 'If you have any questions about this shit, underpaid role I am assigning to yourself, please speak to myself. Or preferably someone else'.

I think people think 'you' is too direct but also that myself and yourself are somehow posher.

I saw an ad once for some job that involved being nice to rich people, and one of the requirements was the ability to use "premium language". I have no idea what was meant by this, but I like to imagine that the recruiter thinks that it involves saying "yourself" to mean "you" a lot. As far as I'm concerned, if someone who is serving me can avoid saying "fuck" and "should of" for the duration of our interaction, I'm happy.

I’ve heard the suggestion of putting in identical twins and swapping them in/out each day on another podcast. I think it sounds good in theory, but could get complicated!

I can live with ‘Fuck’ if they don’t say ‘should of’ and occasionally understand the difference between ‘less’ and ‘fewer’ I’m in.

I sooo want Jake to be murdered. His 'yourself' made me want to poke him in the eye and his reaction to catching Linda was so OTT aggressive blokey...it really irritated me. Just urgh.

I can’t keep up. I’ve missed a thread and a half!

The missions are awful. DH and I were reminiscing about barrel rolling, laser avoiding, bell ringing. All of those were great and enjoyable to watch in their own right. Watching people be driven around? Awful. Waste of time. We saw the boat and thought ooh, some stakes, but all they had to do was pull the rope! But then they still put them in the coffins, it’s all traitors impact but no traitors substance.

DH was wondering if they filmed the card reveal scene between Fozia and Leon the same way they do the breakfasts and round table for maximum impact. Notice you never see their reactions faces with the card turns clips, they’re done from above.

Still don’t care about any of the contestants that much. I do miss Kaz and Fozia.

It’s just not the programme I loved in series 1. But I’ll keep watching it
