The six-part thriller follows a British and Australian detective who are forced to work together to solve the murder of a UK politician’s daughter in Sydney.

The new drama's lead star needs no introduction, John Bradley. Actor: Game of Thrones and as having had viewers on the edges of their seats for two series of tense thriller Liar and then Angela Black, Joanne Froggatt is back on ITV.

North Shore originally aired back in 2023 in Australia, but is now coming to UK screens at last.

According to the synopsis: "Set on and around Sydney Harbour, North Shore follows the clash of cultures when a British and an Australian detective team up to solve a complex murder mystery and uncover a conspiracy with international political consequences

Enjoying this one, nice not to see too many familiar faces.

Well I rewatched the first episode and can’t remember it all (not unheard of 😂) so will watch again.

I am enjoying this, Love the British Detective.
However I just can't get past how unconcerned they seem given that their daughter has been murdered.

I tried but gave up after 15 minutes. The acting is very ropey, I was surprised to read on here that the actor playing Max is quite well known. I don't seem to like Joanne F's style of acting so I was dubious about watching it anyway. When they cut to the Australian police headquarters the acting was so woeful that I turned it off. Last time I did this was the recent series of The Tower. Sorry I can't join in with your observations for this series. Can't like everything!

I have to agree about joanna f, I don't know whether I like her acting or I don't!
I think she's playing quite a restrained character in this..
I like her hair and outfits

I also like how she hasn't joined a lot of women by getting her obviously very thin lips filled.
(I have the same lips!)

It gives her full rein for those 'thin-lipped woman' parts. Like this one! Great casting, I thought.

It seems too obvious that it would be her bio dad because of him possibly being next PM.

Someone on Abigail's team because of her political ambitions?

Or maybe all the politics is a red herring & it's something mundane like wrong place, wrong time?

Interesting how perceptions differ. I'd never have said Joanna has thin lips, she just has lips. I don't think I've ever noticed or thought about thin lips, like I wouldn't think about someone's hands. I always notice plumped up lips though, more than notice, they command my attention.

Personally not keen on the casting of Abigail, or maybe I should say the performance as directed. I find her too self contained and still, I haven't had a feeling of any emotion. That must be what's wanted in the role and I suppose someone rising through the cut throat ranks of government cabinet must have a lot of control, in theory if not in practice 🙄but it doesn't work well for me.

No spoilers from me. I have rewatched the whole thing (bloody insomnia menopause) and loved it but couldn’t remember watching it before. So maybe one of dcs had borrowed my iPad as said viewed.

Near the end when Simon said "our goal has always been nr10", I couldn't help thinking "hmm, at what cost"?

I reckon he's a wrong 'un!
