It's sad. It's one thing to go out because you cocked up, but another entirely because you dropped your sauce. If he had his sauce there he'd have been fine even with slightly grainy texture, I think, given George's dessert messes.

As GregG's comments seem to have poured out in an endless torrent on the studio floor, I suspect pretty much everybody knew. What should have happened is a clause in the contracts of all 'talent' making provision for no recontracting for any BBC show if they infringe behavioural guidelines. Given the number of dumb men around who are 'talent', the guidelines would need to be super-specific eg 'Do not talk about sex, vocalise your sexual fantasies, invite any member of the production team or cast to share sexual experiences with you, recount tales of your sexual exploits, tell jokes about sex or use innuendo eg "No it won't grow if you stroke it" when a female contestant is holding a cucumber'; 'Keep your fly zipped and your trousers fully pulled up round your waist except when using the lavatory or you are by yourself in your dressing room changing your clothes'.
