I watched it and enjoyed it.

I do hope they film a second series and get into Polo territory. Though the complete changing of Rupert's looks is going to also affect a lot of the Perdita stuff. Jilly described her as so blonde she was like a unicorn. And her looks made her really stand out in Argentina etc etc. I always pictured her like Anya Taylor-Joy

If she's dark haired and tanned now she'll fit right in in Argentina and not stand out at all.

I'd like to see who they'll get to play Angel, I loved him in the book.

Helen wears Diorissimo. I used to love it myself but they changed the formula and it's nowhere near as nice now.

I’ve got a bottle of Fracas. It’s more of a powdery, sweet, quite heavy scent.

Fracas is glorious, it’s tuberose. I only tried it because of Jilly and then loved it so had to buy.

Just finished it - LOVED it - but totally unconvinced by Taggie and Rupert - felt very rushed at the end, there wasn’t enough development in the relationship throughout the series to make it seem convincing that they would be that drawn to each other. Maybe they’ll add more depth in the second season (hopefully?)

I agree that the details were fantastic. Even to the tinny sound of the music being played - I loved how they played a 2024 version quality but then switched after a few seconds to the actual sound you’d hear on the car radio/DJ decks.

The cruel and casual sexism, shown in the rugby club and elsewhere. The mess everywhere - no curated bollocks in the houses. Dressers overflowing with shite were de rigeur. It was a much harsher time than now (especially for women ) and this is shown somewhat.

Lizzie is the Jilly herself character - no? I was rooting for Lizzie and Freddie way more than RCB and Taggie. Not feeling it for them.

Diorissimo is the Lily of the valley one IIRC. Used to love that but I was a Diorella girl in the 80s until they changed it.
