Keep Dancing!

Will link the Spoiler and Video Thread in posts below, not as clever as Polka for embedding links!

Yep agree don’t believe a word of her insta post…she didn’t seem happy and he kept away from her . I think she’s told him off …

Everythingaches · 13/10/2024 21:47

What is his hand wondering about??
it’s wandering!

looked creepy to me, I don’t like him.

vegandspice · 13/10/2024 22:05

I just think that the comments about Wynne just highlights how screwed up people are !! He just comes across as a lovely guy and the only weird people are the ones who look for a problem 🤦‍♀️

Romeiswheretheheartis · 13/10/2024 21:26

I don't believe this. Wynne was very noticeably standing with his hands behind his back tonight, when waiting for the results and in the clauditorium after, in complete contrast to everyone else who were all cuddling, arms round each other. He looked very much like he'd been told hands off.

The filming coincided with all this hitting X and the papers picking up on it. Someone obviously let them both know and the awkwardness and hands off came from that - Katya's no fool, she knows from Adam Peaty what the press do and Wynne was fucked either way; act natural and be labelled a perv some more or be completely hands off and be accused of being reprimanded.
It must be awful to be accused of being a lech if you're not. I doubt Katya wants to win that much she'd take wandering hands in return for a Glitterball Nobody's going to put themselves through that for a bit more exposure/tour. She gets paid the same anyway.

coffeeneeded · 13/10/2024 22:14

I'm with you @vegandspice. This is a witch hunt for drama.

The dancers and pros are in a pressure cooker of tension and emotions- some weeks they will like each other, some weeks they won't. Anyone who has been in any kind of show for a long time know that there are always bad days when the jokes land flat.

I hate how people turn on people so quickly. Have a little faith and quit digging

MrsPeterHarris · 13/10/2024 22:38

I don't see how it's a witch hunt at all @coffeeneeded - his hand was clearly going somewhere she didn't want it to and she rightly stopped that. He should make sure to keep his hands in appropriate places in future.

coffeeneeded · 13/10/2024 22:51

Yes- that's all it was. And yet it's being blown up into a bit frenzy and people are calling him horrid things that could really damage his career

MrsPeterHarris · 13/10/2024 23:02

He shouldn't put his hands where they aren't wanted though @coffeeneeded & given he's a mature man, he should know better.

OhHaiOwlInYourTowel · 13/10/2024 23:16

@AlexaSetATimer that racist weirdo will be lurking about somewhere and posting on here. Can't help themselves and it's so blatantly obvious when they do it

HRTQueen · 13/10/2024 23:52

There is no witch hunt but the scd team have created more of an issue with the ridiculous joke story

man seen on live tv moving his hand to area of a woman’s body and she doesn’t like it and moves his hand away and he is called out

why should this be ignored ffs it’s not the 80’s

Yep. People just make a drama out of nothing….if Wynne was 20 years younger there wouldn’t be any issues !

HRTQueen · 14/10/2024 00:32

It’s 2024

wandering not wondering hands are no longer ignored when live on tv

boohoo 🙄

And this could put off older men from wanting to take part in future for fear of being branded lecherous old creeps. And yet the younger couples are all over each other.

Lentilweaver · 14/10/2024 08:09

I don't know what to think of this Wynne Katya thing at all but that apology doesn't sound convincing fo me.

I have to say I am less invested this year as I haven't really enjoyed any one that much. I expect Chris will win, and churlish as it sounds, I don't really enjoy his dancing, though I appreciate it's a tremendous achievement.

thirdfiddle · 14/10/2024 08:26

I don't want Wynne to be a creep. He seems like a really nice guy. Not entirely convinced about the joke bit though. I think it's possible he was genuinely confused about what he was supposed to do with his hand and was just trying to follow instructions to hug her side on. But was ticked off. I guess she's spending all week correcting his hand positions so /maybe/ there could be a joke there, but it looked like genuine ticking off to me.

Could be something connected to size difference too. If I stand next to DH with my hand on his side I'm giving him a hug. If I do same with DD I'm holding her at arms length.
If they haven't completely fallen out I'm expecting some choreographed interview positions next week.

My evening is complete - Penge Latin Formation Team in a tribute to Shirley Bassey. I wish more pro dances were like this.

One of the girls I worked with was in the Penge Latin Team (that’s my claim to fame 😁)!

Agree not a vintage Strictly week but for me Chris continues to amaze. Marking was definitely all over the place as well,

Samcro · 14/10/2024 09:34

i find it all annoying. yes his hand was in the wrong place. she moved it.
doesn't make him a letch, just a taller than her person.
I do hope this doesn't become another kissgate.

Lentilweaver · 14/10/2024 09:40

Maybe Katya is ticklish!

awaynboilyurheid · 14/10/2024 09:46

Those saying strictly has lost its sparkle a bit this series, I’ve heard this comment from quite a few friends and family, seems a couple of reasons behind this , the music some reeeaaally odd choices that don’t fit the dance, no beautiful dresses to sigh about or very few anyway , and benching dancers with personality like Kai and beautiful Lauren who look amazing dancing together and are popular.
I’m sticking with it but yes I actually agree I wouldn’t have missed it for anything now I’m like yes I’ll still watch but maybe on catch up later. Chris is amazing but where’s the magic of Jay and Alionas Jive, or Oti and Danny Macs dances? Feels flat this year.

KimberleyClark · 14/10/2024 09:52

I think the costumes, even in normal non theme weeks, are getting more and more ridiculous and the music choices worse and worse.

GrouchyKiwi · 14/10/2024 10:17

Yes, they're trying far too hard to appeal to the younger generation when actually that means it's losing the charm it had. My kids (12, 10 and 8) generally prefer a lovely waltz to a beautiful classical piece than a salsa shoehorned into whatever is the biggest hit of the day.

Him being taller than her doesn't explain why his hand moved from her side to her front, at the same level.

Lentilweaver · 14/10/2024 10:21

Almost like pantomime the last couple of weeks. Surely costumes are meant to make people look better, not worse. Why would you put Shayne in that horrible yellow and Jamie in shorts? Not to mention Punam in a blonde wig and tin foil.

Apolloneuro · 14/10/2024 10:25

What I don’t understand is how the hand and the high five are part of the same joke? Seems like two separate incidents to me. If my memory is correct, the high five ‘joke’ happened before the hand ‘joke’.

My impression is the Katya can’t stand him and is taking one for the team with all this joke nonsense.

edited to add, I can believe his hand innocently went round her waist more that she was comfortable with and she moved it, but the look she gave him after the high five was real, in my opinion.

Costumes are also not meant to interfere with or obstruct the view of the dancing, but they frequently do.
