So sadly we lost Paul, the air has been chilly.
Bernie had a rave, and Summer is comforting Billy.
Todd is a dude, and David's quite a lark.
It'll be Christmas by the next thread, and really quite dark.

Cassie is a sly one, she's taking Ken in.
I wish the naughty scouser would get in the bin.
Gail and Audrey don't have much going on at the mo.
And Stu and Yasmeen are always on the go.

Poor Bethany was slim but she got liposuction.
The fallout from the procedure has caused quite a ruction.
She owes so many thousands, you just wouldn't believe.
The clinic have her passport so she simply can't leave.

Damon's creeped out of the woodwork for a minute.
It's none of his business but he's poked his nose in it.
Offering Sarah dodgy cash he's got hidden away.
Sarah may have to take it. It may be the only way.

The pub is fairly quiet, and not much going on there
Daisy, Jenny, and Glenda all have fab hair!
Daniel is fussing around Bethany all the time
And people blame him for Bethany, like he's committed a crime.

Fizz is very pregnant, but may not keep the baby.
Tyrone really wants to, and says 'can we, maybe?'
Hope and Ruby fancy a new sister or brother.
But we know who'll be looking after it, Yep, the mother!

Carla and Lisa are vibing quite nice.
You can see their reactions when they look in each others eyes.
Mason's trying to go straight, but is he for real?
Or will he go back to his old ways, and bully and steal?

Kit has been fairly quiet, and the quads have been too!
What's the point of the quads, what do they even do?
Can't think of much else going on right now.
And can't get this last bit to rhyme. Grin

I was amazed last night that 4 people could eat spaghetti and seem to have nothing splashed on their clothes & faces, Ruby in her school uniform looking as neat and tidy as she did in the morning.

I find it a bit cringey the way Gail shuffles around. I know she's an older lady but why have they made her look a little frail. Her mother doesn't walk like that. Yes I know in real life there's not much difference in their ages.

My DM is a year younger and she’s started to shuffle and look frail. I don’t think they ‘make’ Gail shuffle, it’s just the actress is getting older.

Anonym00se · 10/10/2024 08:35

Surely Bethany’s medical costs would have been enormous? How does Gail, a pensioner with no assets other than a fairly cheap house, get a loan for £100K+? Did they end up using Damon’s money?

Shellingbynight · 10/10/2024 09:56

I think it's Helen who is frail, which is why Gail is.

David said Gail took out a bridging loan. Bridging loans have fearsomely high interest rates and are generally used to 'bridge the gap' for a few weeks to pay for a new house when your old one hasn't sold yet.

Where are they all supposed to live in future if most of the house sale proceeds have gone on Bethany's treatment. It certainly looks like Gail is going back to Thailand so maybe she doesn't care!

Roryno · 10/10/2024 08:24

”Martin” used to live near us and had a reputation for being an awkward bugger, very full of himself.

Surely Sarah could have sold her posh flat (with the dreadful security that everyone seems to be able to get round). It would’ve been worth more than Gail’s house and Sarah could’ve downsized? Or is Gail wanting the money to swan off to Thailand?

Ooooooooooooh, good point. Now this John Thompson character has come back - though like others I don't actually remember him! - I wonder if Gail will go off to Thailand with him - and that will be her exit story? He has to be a decade or more younger than Gail, but maybe he fancies a cougar!

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought DAVID owned the house, not Gail! I'm sure David bought the house off Gail some 10 years ago. Did I dream it? Or did he buy it off her and sell it back to her....? #confused

Shellingbynight · 10/10/2024 13:01

@SabreIsMyFave You didn't dream it, you just forgot the next bit, when Gail bought it back off David (around the sinkhole time). There was an auction and I think Tracy was bidding for it, David thought he was going to lose his home, but the mystery bidder who won was revealed as - ta-da - Gail.

Anonym00se · 10/10/2024 13:29

It seems like they threaten to sell that house every three months for one reason or another. If I were David I’d find my own gaff. He’s got less security than if he rented from a dodgy landlord in a sink tower block.

HaddyAbrams · 10/10/2024 13:33

I don't understand why selling their home is the only option to the entire Platt family. Between them don't they own Audrey's (or whatever the hairdressers is called), Trim Up North, The Bistro. Nicks flat, Grasmere Drive, Gail's House, Sarah's Flat. Doesn't Daniel own a house too, as well as his flat.

eggandonion · 10/10/2024 13:57

That's quite a property empire...but I can't remember who owns what. Nick and David did something dodgy at one point and Steven did a dodgy thing with Grasmere Drive .
They should have a crime spinoff because I can't keep track of it all. I'm bewildered like Gail.

ArabellaFishwife · 10/10/2024 15:28

Stephen took out one of those equity release things on Audrey's Grasmere Drive property. And Ken tut-tutted at the prospect of Daniel releasing funds to help out Bethany, because he'd put his inheritance cash into a trust for Bertie.

eggandonion · 10/10/2024 15:43

Did Amy get any of her released inheritance back? Is the Institute totally gone?

bizzey · 10/10/2024 15:47

A character who sticks in my mind who I wish they had developed and explored was that friend of Max 's .
Max went out with his sister.
He did a bit of window cleaning with Tim .
?Gavin ?

He was so funny ..had good natural comedy ...not scripted .

Edit.....he did not explode !

I wondered what happened to him and his sister. They both vanished.

eggandonion · 10/10/2024 16:19

Was that the lad Max was in the youth detention place with?
There are far too many storylines. Probably resulting from 3 hours a week.

WiddlinDiddlin · 10/10/2024 16:31

Yeah Gavin and his sister Sabrina who Max dated for a while til she got thoroughly fed up of Max running around after Lauren like a love sick puppy.

I liked Gavin too, he had some comedy and some sensible bits.

I don't think Sarah owns the posh flat, its Barlows, he's just letting her live there because he is an idiot. There was some discussion about where she would live when she split up with him, and then Damon was going to buy him and her a house so the fact she had no property to sell came up then too.

Audrey doesn't own Grasmere drive any more, its got equity release on it and so she can still live there (as that was never resolved that Stephen took out the equity release fraudulently).

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrdreh does own Trim Up North and Audreys Hair Salon though, I think... or did she let Maria buy in?

Nick owns the flat and the bistro but i think Leanne also owns part of the bistro (though they're not married are they?)... I think they're supposed to have huge debts though after being involved with Harvey and then Damon.

Shellingbynight · 10/10/2024 16:38

Audrey has not owned Audrey's for a while, Debbie owns it and Audrey rents it from her. Trim up North was sold a year ago in the aftermath of the Steven debacle, I don't think they ever said who bought it. Audrey's property empire is very depleted.

HaddyAbrams · 10/10/2024 16:54

Ah right, thanks for the updates on the Platt property/business empire. A combination of a brain like a sieve and only ever half paying attention means I forgot a lot.

eggandonion · 10/10/2024 16:55

It isn't helped by the speed of property transactions .

I'm the same age as Helen Worth and definitely don't shuffle! I do yoga and walk the dog twice a day. It's really not normal nowadays, unless your mum has underlying health issues.

Well when they buy property with stolen cash (like when Jenny/Daisy bought the Rovers with Carla’s stolen money) I suppose they don’t bother with solicitors or have to adhere to the same legal regulations as the rest of us. Kit bought Gemma and Chesney’s house in about 48hrs!

All her siblings died in their 50s/60s so I just think she’s not got the best genes and she has had a hard life, and always worked as a cleaner/carer. I’m not saying everyone in their 70s shuffle, but plenty do, especially if they’ve had physically demanding jobs. Life expectancy in my area is only 73!

AmusedMaker · 10/10/2024 18:35

Carla looks great for nearly 50.
( not that 50 is old by any means )

Lorrymum · 10/10/2024 19:56

Im really not buying into the Carla having "feelings" for Lisa Swain. She has probably slept with most of the men on the street. As for Ryan singing that Carla wants to kiss Lisa, he only saw them together for a few seconds!

JewelleryCat · 10/10/2024 20:21

I don’t think Corrie should be doing this. There’s nothing wrong with a strong female friendship without it being a relationship
