Lacey is classy and elegant compared with the Mum. And sister was a grinning buffoon

she's done well to become a decent and emotionally intelligent person whilst growing up with the wicked witch of the west

Seen her in a new light today

Yeah this. ^ I genuinely thought (on Lacey and Nathan's wedding day,) that Paige (Lacey's sister) was the 'prettier' one out of Paige and Lacey. More cute, like a doll, and presented as petite and dainty la la la. But as the series has gone on - and after last night's episode - I don't think Paige is any prettier than Lacey at all. I thought Lacey was attractive but that was it.

I see now that they are both pretty young women. ALSO, Lacey's personality and feistiness has shone through over this past few weeks, and Paige appears to have zero personality and is quite dull and seems rather empty headed. Maybe she is different away from her mum, but in her presence she is flat and dull and boring.

So right now - IMO - Paige is not the better of the two. (As we were led to believe in the episode where Lacey married Nathan.) I do prefer Lacey, and would pick her over the two if I was a man.

Also, as has been said (and as I said last night) the mum is absolutely vile. An attention seeking drama queen, catty, judgy, mean-spirited, and unkind. I felt so sorry for Nathan last night.

I have to say, I would find it very difficult to be in - and stay in - a relationship with a man who had a mother like this. Luckily, my DH's mother was lovely, and thought of me as a daughter. She only had boys, and was chuffed to have a daughter-in-law. She thought the world of me, and treated me like a daughter.

.

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2024 11:49

One more episode and I'll be caught up but now there's more people getting married 😩

Maybe this - Spanish blue wine is becoming trendy - not tried it myself, colour puts me off!

Thanks I literally had no idea about this tempting option 😂

Tittat50 · 04/10/2024 12:27

@SilentSheldon 🤣🤣🤣

Terrahawk Zelda is the best representation of nutty slack mama. She even sounds like her.

BlouseyBrownMalone · 04/10/2024 12:50

I think Lacey's mother wants Lacey to be at the bottom of the pile. She was absolutely determined at the wedding that he fancied the twin and this meal and he was like a trapped animal during that meal. She tried to trip him up over and over again. Unfortunately for her Nathan isn't an argumentative person so she had to produce that ridiculous response in order to cause a drama.

I just felt like the mother didn't like it at all that Lacy and Nathan talked so nicely to and about one another.

wildlygreen · 04/10/2024 12:58

Is there an episode on tonight?

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 04/10/2024 12:58

@wildlygreen sadly not. Back on Monday

taylorswift1989 · 04/10/2024 13:13

What I want to know is why Nathan agreed to do the show in the first place? At the moment, he is my favourite by far - and I really like how he and Lacey seem to like and respect one another. But he is the least dramatic person I've ever seen on television. What persuaded him to do this? Surely not a genuine quest for true love?

Crispmorningscosyevenings · 04/10/2024 13:20

Just came on to say wow, just wow, Lacey's mum. She is fucking awful.

Just goes to show how toxic in laws can ruin a perfectly good relationship.

martinisforeveryone · 04/10/2024 13:27

Who is Married At First Sight UK's Nathan? Age, job, background (cosmopolitan.com)

At first thought a 24 year old manufacturing engineer from Somerset who wants to settle down with a woman of traditional family values and raise a large family, is a massive mis match with Lacey. I've looked at her Instagram page and her twins' page too and I really don't think she thinks of herself as less attractive than her sister. She's confident and outgoing so far as I can see and very much likes a club night out or a glam holiday.

Who is Nathan from Married At First Sight UK?

The groom who's giving NSYNC

I agree. He just wouldn’t argue with her no matter how hard she tried so she had to resort to tears just so she could have her drama and be a victim. What a horrible mother. Lacey knew they’d be walking on egg shells with her. She knew her mum would spoil the meal and she was panicking about what Nathan would say and trying to smooth things over (even though there was nothing to smooth) the whole time. I do wonder if the twin was in Lacey’s position if the mum would be quite so vile?

InWithThePlums · 04/10/2024 13:43

Wow I didn’t realise Nathan was only 24!

I fear for the future of all these turkey toothed mouths

In ten years' time those turkeys are coming home to roost

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 04/10/2024 11:20

Lacey's made a statement about fajita gate ... basically her mum is menopausal.

Same Lacey's mum. Same

Er, me too! But when my girls' partners come for dinner I bend over backwards to find out what they like to eat, and would have no issues accommodating a vegetarian!
I also realise that both my dds are stunners (😁) and would be fine with that being recognised!
(Although, if I'm being a bit bitchy, Lacey's sister's teeth make her far less attractive than Lacey!)

MounjaroUser · 04/10/2024 14:22

Lacey's mother seemed a mixture of stupid, manipulative, spoilt and selfish - a really bad combination for anyone getting involved with her daughters.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 04/10/2024 14:23

@ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs

Totally agree. I've been known to overact but not when in the presence of guests or in the presence of a camera crew !

MounjaroUser · 04/10/2024 14:23

murasaki · 03/10/2024 22:02

The sister just looked baffled the entire way through.

She looked completely gormless!

MounjaroUser · 04/10/2024 14:32

Marcipex · 03/10/2024 22:00

Lacey’s mother is such a lowlife.
I can’t imagine serving a meat meal to a veggie, then eating it in front of him and giving him nothing. NOTHING AT ALL.
Vile woman.
She says he needs education!

And then asking him why he's not eating anything!

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2024 14:44

I can't read all the threads. It's like War and Peace (fittingly) so I'm just going to carry on afresh from Monday.

BUT! did anyone mention Eve's face when Charlie was talking about her dad leaving? OMG it gave me the absolute creeps how she covered up the smirk with her hand 😱🫣😳

CatamaranViper · 04/10/2024 14:45

It would have taken absolutely nothing for them to just separate out some of the veg for Nathan and let him have a veggie fajita. Selfish cow. All she's done is make herself look like a tit on TV.

CatamaranViper · 04/10/2024 14:50

Apparently the mum was told she had to make fajitas and didn't know he was a veggie before hand. Still doesn't explain why they couldn't just keep a small portion of the veg for separate from the meat for him.

martinisforeveryone · 04/10/2024 15:02

Exactly @CatamaranViper of all the things to adapt to veggie when you're caught on one foot, it's hardly the most challenging is it. I'm sure I heard her say she was a good cook, but I didn't see any avocado, salsa, grated cheese, sour cream or anything to have as an accompaniment. I bet no one ate much of it, you'd have to force it down.

Yeah I mean I was only half watching but it did just look like a pan full of beige, surely they had peppers, onions, mushrooms etc?

I will admit that I hate avocado though so they doesn't come anywhere near by fajitas but cheese and salsa are mandatory!
