I know one of the (ex) Wimbledon line umpires, she’s a civil servant and just takes a couple of weeks off each year to do it. She’s been doing it for about 10 years and has lots of stories about the different players!

I can see that electronic line calling is inevitable, but I do quite enjoy the extra drama of the challenge!

That's really interesting, Ice- it must be such a fun thing to say that you do. Even if the uniform is a bit dubious .

And I also hope that those (former) line judges get some tickets to the Championships , to make up for the fact they can no longer go.

They should get each of them to record the out message so that there's a variety of voices instead of one annoying one!

There really does need to be some variety Jane. I hate how monotonous it sounds.

Maybe they can get some famous voices to do it.

Like they have different options for Siri. They could switch to Yoda 'Out, it is'.

The automated line call at Rafa's tournament sounded like the noise we make when we do the wood chopping pose at yoga - very niche

Wimbledon seem to have behaved a bit shoddily.

I really like the way Tomas is playing, his doubles experience is really evident in his net play. Jannik solid as usual though.

I didn’t realise the line judges themselves weren’t aware of the decision before it was in the press. That’s not really fair.

What's with Djok's the knee brace again? (Ihave avoided him all week, so don't know if he worn it all week). Is he needing an 'if he loses' excuse?
