Still speculation/stories fed to the press.
Allegedly, there's no smoking gun.
Having not been given footage to scour through, Amanda was reliant on being backed by fellow competitors. A whatsapp video she claimed to be inappropriate was "bantz" <shudder> and had previously been forwarded to Gio by a crew member. Allegedly. Having been aware it might go against her, Amanda gave her side in interviews and Laura went on the record publicly.
It really is a shitshow.
If they've really got nothing, Giovanni is not wrong in wanting compo for his name being dragged through the mud. Why he couldn't sign contracts for other things is anyone's guess but being in a state of limbo is unfortunate. So bosses will be working out how the hell to phrase it if they do wish to exonerate fully.
Are you saying not one but two women are both wrong/lying? Not a good look.
If they can't prove anything, Amanda will be viewed as unstable/vengeful/tarnishing a man's career until the end of time. Her career will also have been affected. It's awful. There are no winners here. Like a case in Scotland when they have a Not Proven verdict, in many cases, that's an awful thing to live through as you're still under a cloud of suspicion.
There's no statement that could please everyone.
Recollections may vary, indeed.
Can you just blame it on a Clash of Personalities? Had they headed it off, last year, perhaps.
They'd have been best off mediating with them both in the room looking over the footage together, paying them both off and getting them to write an agreed statement, with him potentially leaving for new things (Italian version/I'm a Celeb/more BBC vehicles) and her doing projects with their drama arm.
Far too late for that now. It's become a war of words.
