KEEP DANCING EVERYONE

Hopefully this thread will see some closure to the unpleasantness in the form of findings; as well as the build up to the beginning.

Looking possible !

Is that Jill Halfpenny sat behind Bruno?

Oh I didn’t see.

i think I saw nana moon though.

And the actor from something…can’t remember his name. He was checking his watch when the camera was on him.

ChessieFL · 10/08/2024 19:44

I thought I saw Will Mellor in the audience earlier.

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/08/2024 19:45

Yes, Will Mellor, that’s the one!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/08/2024 19:46

Brian Dowling is definitely there, he was a close friend of Tess's I think

God, David Dickenson's annoying!

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/08/2024 19:49

What a beautiful dancer Camilla is.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/08/2024 19:50

Why can't they do like with Dr Who and put every series up?

I'd never get anything done and @BehindTheSequinsandStilettos would probably explode

BUT

I WANT IT

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/08/2024 19:50

SIX for David? That’s pretty generous!

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/08/2024 19:51

Oh I’d love every series!

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/08/2024 19:52

Erin 🤣

Did a chilling look pass across his eyes as he realised the middle-aged man in a bucket hat breakdancing to the Happy Mondays with a slim Chinese woman was, in fact, a ghostly warning from his own future? Bit like one of those M.R. James stories they stick on at Christmas but with lots of man-made fibres?

EsmaCannonball · 10/08/2024 19:58

I vote iPlayer puts up every series of the proper Come Dancing. Now that was entertainment.

To be fair, I'd binge the shit out of that as well

The awkward dance at the end!

They could have it one night per week. The whole evening.

So what was on BBC3 after?

Justin Lee Collins had the It Takes Two live show.

He was disgraced but I can't remember if it was before or after he lost the Strictly gig to Claudia

Disgraced later on, I think. Apparently the producer in charge of ITT hated the way he presented the show.

I've got to say, the combination of Fleur and Janette made ITT stop being a must-see for me last year. I'm going to guess they are a lot cheaper to employ than proper career television presenters but, by god, you can tell it's not the day job.

Taytocrisps · 10/08/2024 20:21

I've just finished watching. Bruce Forsyth was very cringy at the beginning with his comments about the celeb (Natasha Kaplinsky) stripping off and asking her if she was easy. The 'humour' was more reminiscent of a show from the '80s, not the '00s.

I've seen the name Arlene on these threads but for some reason I assumed she was a dancer. I didn't realize she was a judge. Wonder what she's doing now?

Everyone looked so young, but I guess that's to be expected, given that 20 years have passed since it was filmed. Tess looked like a junior reporter doing vox pops. She was a bit awkward. She's a lot more polished these days. Craig looked so pale!

The backstage area (where Tess did her interviews) looked so basic.

The height difference between the comedian and the dancer was massive! At one stage, he had his back to the camera and you could just about make out a tiny bit of her hair over his shoulder.

tennissquare · 10/08/2024 20:42

@Taytocrisps , you can Google Arlene Phillips, she is a Dame and won an Olivier Award for her choreography of Guys and Dolls this year.

dollybird · 10/08/2024 21:34

I only started watching the year Caroline Flack won. Watched the first episode tonight and thought it was rubbish! So scripted, everyone interrupting each other, only talking to one or two judges, judges only having 20 seconds to give any comments. The whole thing looked cheap. I think if I'd watched at the time I wouldn't have bothered to carry on with it.

MeAgainAndAgain · 10/08/2024 21:40

Do they get through eight couples in an hour now?

Some of the couples only had one judge comment I think.
