Have decided to watch Hubi and Arthur Fils.

I am finding it a bit hard to concentrate after last night.

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 11:34

I just put it on and Isa popped up chatting about the British players again!

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 11:35

It looks very windy. Hold onto your hats!

Fizzywinegum · 04/07/2024 11:37

I’m stuck in training course hell at work when I should be at home watching the tennis Hmm

That’s very annoying about the young Brits not knowing there is an election today - they could have just pretended they knew!

Looking forward to watching when I get home - would like to see some of Stan and Gael but not sure if I’ll get home in time - was hoping to watch the tennis in peace later (and shed a quiet tear if they do Andy’s farewell tonight) but DS1 and his GF are coming round - they did say they’d cook so that’s good (I think) - might crack open the Pimms later Grin

Did they run away from PE class?

Grin DD2 is at a wild life park. She keeps sending me pictures of bored looking meerkats. The coach turned up over an hour late to take them. They have to be back for 3. At least it's not raining. And it's free.

Can't imagine a school trip to Wimbledon (mind you, I'm a bit far away Grin).

Raahh · 04/07/2024 12:01

Bit early to be talking about an upset- it's only the first set of a 5 set match!

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 12:05

The wind causing havoc with the beeper!

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 12:06

The poor bored meerkats Grin

Yes, very disappointing re not voting/being aware of the election. I thought Emma was intelligent, straight A student, looking at Oxford etc but it's not clever to say that!
I voted on my way back from the weekly shop, so no need to go out anymore today. Would like to watch the end of Stan vs Gael and the Murrays later. Need to look at the order of play to see who else is playing. Not watching Cock, sorry Fearnley! I see Lily Miyazaki has already been double bagelled by Kasatkina!

Jo's serve was intensely irritating but she still annoys me as a commentator. Can't remember the match but the other day, she wouldn't shut up! And I still have a gripe about her lack of team spirit in the Battle of the Brits, swanning in for one match Hmm.....Liam Broady with a cardboard cut out of her for the presentation Grin

Raahh · 04/07/2024 12:17

The boxing at the olympics is being held at RG?

That's random.

ChessieFL · 04/07/2024 12:17

Just thinking about the logistics of tennis players voting - I guess they would have to do a postal vote as they won’t be near their home constituency to vote in person (well, Andy and Emma might just about be able to pop home and do it!). However claiming to not even be aware of the election is not a very good look.

Raahh · 04/07/2024 12:18

Presumably not on the actual courts.

The boxing, that is.

ChessieFL · 04/07/2024 12:20

I’ve got work meetings this afternoon so not sure I’ll see much of Fearnley or Katie/Harriet unfortunately, but will hopefully catch Jack/Norris and will definitely be watching the Murrays later. Just watching Madison Keys about to win on my lunch break.

Raahh · 04/07/2024 12:20

No, I don't think anyone would argue that the logistics of voting might be tricky (and they could have been anywhere when the election was called) Chessie- it's the whole faux naive 'election, what election' thing that isn't very bright.

magimedi · 04/07/2024 12:22

I went on a school trip to Wimbledon................. in 1971!!!

Very, very annoyed with all the young Brits being unaware of it being election day........ I'd disqualify the lot!!

Wow! won't mention that's 6 months before I was born

That's amazing.

Was that year Evonne Goolagong won? She was my mum's favourite.

Raahh · 04/07/2024 12:27

Not going well for Hubi. Come on Hubi!

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 12:48

Fils is on fire!

ChessieFL · 04/07/2024 12:49

Hubi getting grumpy

Raahh · 04/07/2024 12:59

Been to vote.

Picture of dog.

ChessieFL · 04/07/2024 13:00

Cute dog Raahh.

Isa clearly completely lost when she can’t see the autocue properly!

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 13:01

Aww he looks like an elderly statesman Grin

Raahh · 04/07/2024 13:02

No, she is hopeless. Sue could always think on her feet and ad-lib to fill in the gaps.

Isa gets stumped when things don't follow the script exactly.
