Contestants were announced today for the new series starting on Monday 3rd.

I don't know if I can do it this year folks.

Hello.

Joey Essex is a nob. I am an episode behind but Sam did say he didn’t kiss her once in two weeks. So that makes a lot of sense that Grace is his real life girlfriend.

Every time I see Tiffany - I can’t believe she is real.

There was no chemistry between Joey and Sam. No cuddles, kisses, in 2 weeks, so how could she be so surprised his head was turned when ex came in?

RedRobyn2021 · 19/06/2024 07:13

It actually made cry seeing how upset and embarrassed Sam was. I am pregnant though so that probably didn't help. But it just sucks for her

She accepted that. It's the way he's handled it that has upset her. I expect she thought he would at least treat her with respect. For instance not calling her pathetic.

ElfAndSafetyBored · 19/06/2024 07:49

Can we not vote Joey and Grace out? It’s just horrible to see their smug faces and not in the spirit of the show since they were clearly a couple before entering - I’m not buying this ‘ex’ crap.

ElfAndSafetyBored · 19/06/2024 07:52

Plus, can they bring back Sam? Is that even possible.

Bring back Sam!!!

Yes she spent the first week and a half looking smug as she had bagsied the ‘celebrity’ but she at least had the self respect to see the inevitable and remove herself. Something Jess avd Harriet could learn from.

ElfAndSafetyBored · 19/06/2024 07:53

And I was feeling sorry for Shaun until he picked Harriet! She wouldn’t know a good man if she tripped over him.

RocketsMagnificent7 · 19/06/2024 08:01

Just caught up on last night; why was Joey acting like the wounded party?

I agree with others, his involvement has completely ruined this series.

I also just can't with Ronnie! I don't get it, at all. He's awful, smarmy, slimy, snakey and yet they all seem to fancy him, just what are we missing?

I wonder if it's a lifestyle thing. He's a footballer, albeit a low level one. Perhaps they want part of that circle on the outside.

Sam is a hairdresser, I think Omar is a teacher and Mumveer had a "normal" job. The girls are maybe chasing the celebrity status.

ElfAndSafetyBored · 19/06/2024 08:13

I don’t get it either. I’m old now, admittedly, but I wouldn’t have touched Ronnie with a barge pole in my twenties either.

He’s not even funny - unless they are editing out all of his funny bits?

I think you are right.

kerstina · 19/06/2024 08:21

Yes hopefully the public will vote Grace and Joey out next although that’s probably what they themselves want anyway. Had a lot of respect for Joey and sympathy for him before this series but do not have that now .I think this has been a very bad move for his career.

I agree that The Ronnie thing is bizarre. He plays in the 7th or 8th football league so probably has to pay his subs to play… I don’t think he’s funding flights on private jets or spending sprees in Gucci from his earnings playing footie any time soon so Tiffany should prepare to be disappointed 😉

I’d love it if Sean was quietly richer than Willy Wonka and all of the girls have passed him by 😂

OMG! I really want that to be true of Shaun. 🤣

It was true of Mark Zuckerberg’s college peers. Those girls are really kicking themselves now 😂

Catlord · 19/06/2024 08:42

I think with Ronnie it's because there's no malice about his bad boy behaviour. I know thay sounds a very low bar but compare it to Joey Essex who has defended his shittery and made himself the victim.

Ronnie just buggers on, doing exactly what he wants, taking every bollocking that comes with fairly good grace, agreeing he's been bang out of order with surprised eyes (he doesn't think before acting, or probably during or after) so that Jess, Harriet and probably now Tiff actually believe there is a chance he will behave if only they can get through to him eventually.

I think he probably seems a challenge in that sense. 'if only I stick around a bit longer, I can probably get him to see...' like a slot machine. Totally sunk costs fallacy.

usernother · 19/06/2024 08:52

Ronnie allegedly sprays fibres onto his hair to cover up his receding hairline. That's why it looks carpet like. What happens if he gets it wet?

pinkdelight · 19/06/2024 09:27

I wonder what is putting the girls off Sean - he is a hunk.

He says the same thing to every girl though and it comes over as pretty dim and a bit desperate. I do like him and hope they send someone in who'd genuinely appreciate him, but I think it'd have to be someone kind and not going for him because of how he looks, because he's not an alpha hunk and if that's what a girl wants, they're going to get bored and dump him.

I'm having to conclude that Ronnie must be one of those people who's much more attractive in person that he comes across on TV. He's confident and that's always attractive, especially as he hasn't got the 'best' bod and has his weird hair etc but isn't insecure about that. Someone being happy with themselves is appealing and I guess he seems like a good spirit to be around, he can chat to everyone and is reasonably smart, even-tempered and so on. Plus the footballer thing seems to mean a lot to many of these girls, whatever league it is. Not my cuppa but then I liked hairdresser Sam so whaddoIknow!

ElfAndSafetyBored · 19/06/2024 09:34

Interesting to hear positive comments about Ronnie, all good points. I’ll try to keep a more open mind about him.

I particularly like the above comment ‘Ronnie just buggers on’ 🤣 accurate and hilarious.

Not sure Wil is feeling Uma's sense of humour fully!!

She is a strange girl isn’t she!! I think she’s by far the most natural looker in there but she’s definitely a bit odd.

Happyjuly · 19/06/2024 09:56

A lot of people on SM are saying they’re going to stop watching now, they’re quite unhappy with what LI has done and how they have treat Samantha

Joey Essex just trying to stay relevant

Pigeonqueen · 19/06/2024 10:12

The whole Joey thing feels so scripted. A lot of people are saying him and Grace were still together on the outside and they’ve manipulated the whole thing. I mean it doesn’t surprise me; it’s TV at the end of the day but Joey has come across as such a complete arse.

pontipinemum · 19/06/2024 10:52

I'm still days behind. I asked before about who does Uma look like.

I was watching last night, does she look a tiny bit like Margot Robbie? Like facial expression or something? Or just that something about her reminds me of Margot. No, straws?

I must be the only person to not get all the hate directed at Joey & Grace.

I don't think they were a real life couple before entering the villa. The producers wouldn't be so stupid to do that. Everyone said the same thing about Callum & Molly in All Stars last year - and they were wrong.

It's Love Island. People have always jumped from one person to the next. Been in friendship couples, stayed in a couple to see if someone new comes in that they fancy more. Joey is no different. If he wasn't Joey Essex, he wouldn't be receiving the backlash he is now. I don't think he deliberately treated Sam badly. She was always way more into him than he was her. She was caught up in celebrity aspect of it all. She kept asking about TOWIE and wanting to know about that side of things. I think she thought they had it in the bag because of who he is.
Let's not forget how she goaded Harriet into things and didn't behave like a true friend when she knew it would have made her look silly. She threw a tantrum in the challenges where Joey had to kiss other girls. She slept on the day bed as soon as Grace arrived with no justification. She was trying (unsuccessfully) to do the pick me dance, and it backfired. She was incredibly high maintenance and bitchy.

Granted Joey could have handled things a little better - but he's a human male, and countless others have done way worse on that show.

All this hate and vitriol towards him & Grace is ridiculous. You're seeing 1 hour of heavily edited footage and making assumptions that he doesn't care, or that she's being smug (because she smiles).

How Sam became the nations sweetheart I don't know. She behaved like a petulant child at times, and came across as quite rude and entitled.

Oh, and I said the same about Mimi's eyebrows last night!

Edited

She reminds me of Minnie Driver. Something about her scale/proportions. I like them both.

It’s all very true what you say but I guess at the heart of it is we feel sorry for Sam because haven’t we all been that girl at some point when the boy moves on and it’s painful and usually not right in front of your face.
