Thanks so much. I am generally useless at remembering plots. The only upside is that I can rewatch a series and find it really engrossing because I remember so little.
For me, not being from Northern Ireland the added element of the continuing / historical divisions add an element to what would otherwise have been an urban police drama.
And as said up thread the police having to face people throwing petrol bombs with just shields is truely disturbing.
But why in the end I found it a bit "cheesy" is that the happy ending all round just not realistic, which is what I thought the first series did so well.
And the idea that the sister of the man (Lee?) who wanted to return the area to the old ways, should within less than 24 hours organised a rebellion against him seems just fanciful.
Can anyone explain to me why Lee's right hand man, was so willling to sacrifice himself for Lee. Was it something to do when they were in the army together.
I am glad that Happy got some sort of closure, but sort of wished we could have had more of his story. Of all the characters from series 1 I remember him as much as I do Gerry.
And unlike PP I didn't think Jen's storyline was that bad. But had forgotten how terrible her relationship was with her mother.
But did like at the end when somehow all the women acted in tandem to payback Canning(?) for his behaviour.
Although Jen's mother had been more than happy to use him when convenient.
She would be a difficult boss to have as she didn't stick to the rules as it were, but just took decisions that were pragmatic / convenient at the time. (I've just realised I dont know her name
)
