Maybe they’re breaking her like this so Vanessa is the only person to get through to her and with Charity like she is, they’re going to have a relationship but Mack knows that deep down, Charity and him belong together so a love triangle forms?

This is only speculation by the way

Surely if they thought Charity knowingly stabbed Mack they wouldn’t have released her. So are we to believe 2 cops decided without any medical assessment that she wasn’t of sound mind at the time and just sent her home.
