A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Our list is cumulative so includes previous threads’ recommendations. Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. I have Doctor Slump fomo but am so deep in Legend of the Blue Sea obsession that I could barely tear myself away to watch MMH even.

Agree we could have done without Bitch #2 - there is so much drama with the evil duo we didn't need her to add any more. Hopefully her role in all this will be a little 2 episode arc or something 🤞

Was waiting for inkistyle to put up some more MMH outfits because some of the stuff PMY has been wearing has been fancy high street pricing rather than designer. I fell in love with her cream knit camping outfit which was of course... A $3000 Loro Piana cashmere sweater.

I'm waiting until all the episodes are on for Dr Slump before I start because I've become very impatient!

The timing of the release of MMH episodes seems a bit random - we had three last week, didn't we? And then two this week and the next isn't until 12th.

Have you got plenty of tissues maldo? Do you need to be seen in public afterwards? It's a while since I've watched it but if I recollect it was more like eyes filling up and tears running down my cheeks in a genteel sort of way than full on blotchy-faced sobbing (side- eyes at I should have told you a million times)

Now on ep 6 I’ve got a pet theory about the two lead characters in Knight Flower which would ensure a Bea-friendly ending. I am waiting to see if I am proved right.

I am SO EXCITED about new HP spin off series. Even though I know having it set all in a maternity unit is going to mean pregnancy and birth care storylines likely to set my teeth on edge. I wonder how many of those they will have pilfered from Dr Storks?
But I'm sure there will be cameos from original series 🥹🥹🥹

General pre-sale is today at 10.00 and I'm umming and ahhing about it, dd will only be 8 so I think if I get gen admission tickets she will see nothing, but golden circle might be too expensive with flights and hotel on top.... and now my ds2 is saying he wants to go as well 🤷‍♀️ I might log on and see what the damage might be....

I managed to get disabled tickets in the viewing platform (I'm a wheelchair user) and so it was cheaper and DDs ticket was free. She is autistic so wouldn't cope with the general admission anyway.

You'll get a great view @mrsfeatherbottom! I saw some videos of the Black Pink concert from last year and I was thinking there's no way the kids could deal with the general admission bit, anything else might be too costly though with everything else factored in.... we'll see.
