For anyone who tries to avoid spoilers for Love Island!

Speculation/theories etc are more than welcome, but, please, please, don't mention anything that hasn't aired yet, or that hasn't appeared on the official Love Island app/First Look.

I'm just catching up with last night's. I think I'm starting to see LI now as truly toxic. It really does enable and encourage some very poor behaviour (mainly from males) I've watched since the beginning, and feel that on the whole, people are getting more and more vulnerable - mostly the girls tbh - I had hoped it may create resilience, but it doesn't, the game / format just continues to fuck with their heads. Even the ones who initially come across as quite streetwise.

Agree. He also seems decent.

Was also quite surprised to see Josh pull Mitch up saying not to 'number' girls. Mind, I'm nit sure if that was from a moralistic pov, or whether it was someone speaking from experience of being caught out.

I think she had to pick him, because she doesn't fancy Chris and didn't have another option.

When did Molly and Callum split up? I'm wondering how far this is a manufactured situation

Callum said only 6 months ago ! Which seems weird as it's pre re-corded but I don't know when it was recorded so they might have been split up longer by the time it aired ! It's all for entertainment really isn't it, I'll whinge about it but watch it anyway 🤣🤣alot are slagging Chris off as well but I think he is great, very handsome, I understand when people say he jokes too much though, he needs to show his serious side sometimes too

No-one seems to fancy each other, which is probably why its so dull (I've caught up now)

Isn’t it incestuous how they’ve all got history? Assume because they all go to the same events and stuff.

Chris gives me the ick, I really liked him the last time he was in. I did follow him for a while on instagram. I can’t remember why I unfollowed him tbh, but I find him a bit creepy this time. The desperation to be funny seems to cause him a sort of anxiety. I’d just like to see him being properly himself.
Sophie’s voice reminds me of Smithy’s girlfriend on Gavin & Stacy.

I dont think Mollie has done anything wrong. It seems that they split because of Callum not communicating. She said she wanted to get married but he didn't.
So she's coming from a place of "ffs nothing has changed," and now that Callum isn't getting constant reassurance from her, which he isn't used to, he seems to think she's the problem

I'm going off Chris too. He was great the last time, but he's just too much at the moment. I hope this doesnt turn out to be mistake for him going back in.

I'd say he is believing his own hype. He dresses and acts differently and unfortunately it doesn't come naturally at all, it comes across as trying too hard to fit in. It's a shame really, but it makes me cringe.

First time round, as a late arrival, Chris didn't really stand a chance. Everyone he might have gone for was spoken for by that point and not switching, and he was left with Harlee. Who he clearly didn't fancy but still made sure she had a good time on the date - and weren't dates better in that series, when they actually did things together rather than just having same convos in different locations - and always finding something good to say about her. And then he took the piss out of some of the more ludicrous speech habits (thank bloody goodness someone did) and then just looked like he was having fun (salmon)

But this time, he's in from the start and just doesn't seem to have chemistry with anyone. So although he's probably much the same guy, it doesn't come across so well. He's no longer the underdog we wished had found someone; quite the opposite really, and the greater exposure doesn't seem to have favoured him

I'm beginning to find this series all a bit tedious - too much ex/back story and not enough attraction.

The way Chris spoke to Arabella was really nasty. I don't think he is as nice as he makes out.

Too many of them know each other, so no sense of discovery. And amongst those who knew each other, if there had been any real attraction, they'd have acted on it by now.

I can believe that they're beginning to think in terms of finding someone to be serious about; I don't believe that any really think it'll happen on a somewhat staged TV show (other than pie-in-sky daydream = "I'm open to it")

I think some - and I'm looking at you, Toby - are truly toxic, which makes so much of the show tedious

I'm behind again, as I'm not finding it interesting enough - and the best thing about that is the ability to tab forwards - there's so much that's missable

I cannot see Callum without seeing Craig Charles.

Ah i hadnt noticed any spoilers recently on t'other thread, just as well because im not a fan, and always watch everything in real time.

I have no idea about later in the thread, but the spoiler on Jake's departure did it for me

However, that's all water under the bridge. I'm 2 days behind at the moment and not feeling a strong urge to catch up (though I probably will over the weekend). I find Toby close to unwatchable though, and still get muddled about who's who with a couple of the boys. It's that unmemorable!

Does anyone look like they really fancy someone yet?

Ah yes the Jake thing, but tbh i didnt care if Jake stayed or not!

Re. last question, thought Chris and Arabella were genuinely on course until yesterday, but he turned out to be a tosser, as soon as Sophie walked in [shame]

Yeah, so weird how he was the one being pretty full on with Arabella, then flipped around completely.

I thought the way Chris spoke to Arabella was awful. But he did make one good point about how she'd said she didn't chat to the other two because she didn't fancy them so it wasn't fair of her now to say it was because of him.

She was clearly more upset than she wants to let on, but that led her to a kind of volatility that didn't do her any favours. And I think it was noticed. So I was mildly surprised that Toby chose her (but I think he's toxic, so perhaps we could get shot of the pair of them?)

I think that, as there's so little prospect of strong attraction/romance between any of them, that a friendship couple could win. Anton with Kaz was my first thought.

But I really wish Anton had chosen Liberty because someone needs to get her away from Mitch as she seems incapable of doing it for herself. And those two would also make a strong (and potentially winning) friendship couple

So, Molly wants Callum, Callum wants Georgia, Georgia wants Tom, Tom wants Molly.
She was really chasing Tom. He doesn’t seem that interested. They’ve dated, he chose Molly. He’s not really giving her anything much but she’s quite needy/beggy.
