I wonder if Strictly will be as popular next year

I'm sure it will.
Every year we seem to say that it's not as good, but it's still very popular.
Every year, the wrong person wins - according to some - yet they watch it again the next year.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 15/12/2023 11:22

Oh my gosh so true!

Along with the judges sayiny ‘best show ever’, ‘best ever rumba, waltz, etc’

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 15/12/2023 11:29

Strictly will run and run. Some years are better than others for all sorts of reasons (or no reason at all) but it's pretty fabulous no matter what and survives everything from unpopular appointments/dance offs, to curses and crazy cgi.

I love it. Can't wait for tomorrow night!

melisma · 15/12/2023 11:30

I for one am absolutely delighted that we get to see Layton and Nikita's AT again - my dance of the series, no question. I loved their QS too and feel really excited about their showdance after their utterly charming appearance on ITT last night. The strength of their friendship just shines through for me, and I'm one of those people that just wants to be entertained on Strictly - for me, Layton and Nikita have absolutely made this series.

Definitely this!

PastorCarrBonarra · 15/12/2023 15:02

For me, SCD would be massively improved by the results being broadcast live on a Saturday.

I like the judges, the presenters, the music and the pros, so I wouldn’t change anything else.

TheShellBeach · 15/12/2023 15:07

Wasn't the results show on Saturday in years gone by? Just quite late? Or am I mixing that up with something else?

Same!

mydogisthebest · 15/12/2023 15:33

I think Strictly is still very popular. I still love it and, although I don't know many people that watch it, the ones that do are enjoying this year.

I love Layton and Nikita and part of me would love to see them win. It's just that I love Ellie and Vito more.

Not keen on Bobby and even less keen on Dianne. I am also annoyed that they are doing that awful weepy dance when I want the final to be fun, glamourous, light etc. I will go out of the room when he does that dance.

I really wanted to see Amanda in the final and am still sad that she left

Yes, a very quick 10 minutes - I for one wish they'd stuck to it

PastorCarrBonarra · 15/12/2023 17:02

Ahhh a ten minute result show on Saturday would be perfect. The Sun night show is a bit tedious and no one is fooled by the “on Saturday night” nonsense.

CrushingOnRubies · 15/12/2023 18:36

I'm so Happy that Amy feels she is week enough to interview previous celebs from the series on ITT.

I wish they would stop the charade of Sundays results show

They're can't replicate all the make up and costumes twice especially on Halloween. And posts on instagram also give it away that it's not the case

Lovely to see Amy.

CrushingOnRubies · 15/12/2023 19:12

Well enough not week enough Xmas Blush

theconfidenceofwho · 15/12/2023 19:16

I knew what you meant @CrushingOnRubies as I thought the same!

MeinKraft · 15/12/2023 21:51

This clip on Facebook made me laugh. They got someone off Drag Race to do a 'bit' with the Strictly couples and when he walked in Nikita looked terrified 😬

They've definitely been fun to watch!

billysboy · 16/12/2023 06:35

I hope Ellie wins through, it’s not Laytons fault but he is a blatant Ringah
Craig no doubt will be calling him fabulous and dishing out his tens
some of the more enjoyable people to watch have been Annabelle and Kristnan

Sandytoxic · 16/12/2023 06:57

Prosecco is chilling in the wine fridge, what snacks do I need to get ready?

I'm thinking cha-cha-cheesy crackers, tango-mango slices, and of course Pringles with salsa.

Samcro · 16/12/2023 07:56

for the first time i am most likely going to vote for a ringer in the final. fed up with reading the stuff layton has had to endure. yes he is a ringer. but there have been other obvious ringers, a pussy cat doll , danny mac, DVO debbie mcgee. to name a few. yet he has faced so much abuse (not here so much) , he was hired for the job.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 16/12/2023 08:00

BBC Breakfast had a piece earlier interviewing the finalists. I'll be voting for Ellie and Vito unless one of the other two totally wows me tonight. Vito is a lovely guy.

I just read that Amanda's not coming back for the final (although Nigel is!)

xsquared · 16/12/2023 10:10

Amanda left under a cloud, but Nigel leaving was due to an accident. Although the gutter press will try to convince you otherwise.

SequinsandStiIettos · 16/12/2023 10:48

Amanda pointedly extended thanks to crew and cast but not Gio.
Her absence from the final has to be down to a poor working relationship.
Whether this was the case throughout, despite trying to nip it in the bud and deny it earlier on, or just by the sixth week of training...we'll never know.
But if it was purely a mental health decision, she'd have done her best to minimise criticisms of her partner at the time of her departure and she might have popped back for one more lift (although Will Young didn't and I suspect had a similar experience on the show).
