Agree, much as I like/have liked Nikita, he's getting overexcited about having a sleb who can perform. It's tricky line to walk; I know some people on here like Layton and his routines, and clearly the judges do too, so he's appealing to them – but then the DO the other week shows that a lot of the voting public DON'T vote for him/them.
It is the same performance every time, and sometimes they get lucky and it suits the dance and/or the judges are struck with selective blindness about technique and timing, and sometimes the judges are in a different mood and pick him up on it.
I'm really pissed off that he gets a rumba – which I think he WILL hide in, inasmuch as it'll be twirly and swirly and dramatic, and Motsi and Anton will love it – and a Charleston, which the judges have already said will suit him down to the ground. He needed to do a Viennese or a slow foxtrot and show that he and Nikita have bothered training in actual ballroom technique.
Still, I think the usual ringer rule will prevail – he'll get to the final but will have little public support and so won't win.
