Because they're posting their comments TO Layton. He was asked to be on the show by producers, yet he's the one receiving vitriol about that decision, not the BBC or producers. In addition, he is being called a freak, a mental case, lots of derogatory names related to his sexuality, etc. Again, being tweeted to him and commented on his and Nikita's (and the BBC's) instagram posts. It's endless. We're in week 11 ffs. Yes, he's a west end performer - stating it's not fair that he is on the show is not productive in the least. And it's downright harmful when it's said directly to Layton.

Apparently she was written out with no notice / warning at all, so was shocked and devastated that it happened.

I hope this opens up lots of amazing doors for her.

I feel equally bereft about Nigel leaving.. I feel last night was very flat and so gutted we didn't get to see their charlston, it looked amazing. Very baffled about people saying Katya wasn't crying in a professional way! All the pros cry when they leave and the way they left was awful, of course she's going to be devastated! Its the furthest she'd got for 6 years and she probably knew they were in with a good chance of making the final!

Those comments about Layton make me want to weep. At least on MN any comments like that would be reported and deleted very quickly (not suggesting anyone on this thread would want to post anything like that).

I think the casting for this series was pretty good but two of the best dancers and more interesting personalities dropping out has made the excitement peter out somewhat.

I think Annabel has been really interesting, and has progressed the most. I also thought Angela S was a good dancer, and it's a shame she went out when she did. Krishnan and Adam were joyful in their own way, and I liked Eddie as well. Quite a good mix.

Just caught up. Shame about Nigel, he's been a great contestant and Katyia is the strongest female pro by far she is outstanding. He looked extremely high doing that interview not really fair to drag him out with a broken rib and he winced when katyia taped his side. Poor bloke.

I thought Layton was phenomenal, he seemed to dial it backs bit and co work with Nikita. I think he's been saving that tho to show progress for the final.

Ellie was fab, Annabel is obviously less good now but still impressive taking into account age and lack of experience.

I'm not a fan of Bobby but he is beautiful. I didn't rate the dance tho and the lift did fail unfortunately.

(Forgive my live updates 24 hours behind!) I know he’s on a lot of painkillers but that’s the most relaxed Nigel looked all series! Didn’t think Katya was OTT at all with her tears, the VT did show off their achievements and that must have been hard to watch knowing it’s been cut short. Shame, I loved him in Stenders and enjoyed him in Strictly just as much

Ooo bit surprised to have really liked Layton’s paso, but agree with a previous poster - they were out of sync at the start. The middle section was fantastic.

I’ll shut up now but though bar the lift Bobby was great too though he looked disappointed. Such a shame for Nigel and Katya as think it would have been a great week all round had they all been able to perform.

Same! He's my favourite Strictly celeb EVER and I still regularly watch his dances on YouTube. He was so fabulous

Absolutely gutted for Nigel and Katya too, at least if they were out because they were in the dance off, then I'd accept their journey had come to its natural end., fair and square.

I know I'm being ridiculously invested. I don't care who wins or who even goes through next week. It will however be utterly hilarious if Layton won. Imagine the outrage!

I quite enjoyed last night as a whole, but none of the dances really excited me.

Ellie's was good, but I think I'd have preferred her doing a 'proper' quickstep (like her American Smooth). More showy and less storytelling.

Annabel's was nice, I liked her sparkly dress. I think she did a lot of foxtrot (maybe a bit drowned in smoke!). I thought her score was a bit low.

Layton. It was very good but still too showdance-y for my taste. On the stage, excellent, in Strictly, not quite right for me. There weren't many paso steps. (And sorry Shirl, but they weren't in sync at the beginning.)

Bobby. Fun, but he had to get the lift right! I also don't know what Dianne was talking about, I'd trust Kai far more than Bobby with a lift like that. Bobby has arms like pipe cleaners. Also he's so tall it would be a long way to fall! He shouldn't have scored more than Annabel.

Yes, if Dianne really would rather trust Bobby with a huge lift than Kai then I'd eat my corset.
