Diane suits that hair colour I’m not a fan of the vivid artificial red ( love natural red hair btw) thought lift was wobbly. To me Nigel was a better dancer and would have done better, such a shame.

chaosmaker · 02/12/2023 20:25

That seemed to be on for ages and then also to end very abruptly

AboutYouTalk · 02/12/2023 20:25

Zero point in having a show tomorrow, no vote or dance off. Just odd.

EvilRingahBitch · 02/12/2023 20:25

chaosmaker · 02/12/2023 20:23

so why is there a show tomorrow?

Because they've already booked Joss Stone and the pros have been rehearsing their group number all week.

chaosmaker · 02/12/2023 20:26

that won't take a whole programme length though.. so more waffling about nothing then for the rest of it.

CrushingOnRubies · 02/12/2023 20:26

This what should we do with a drunken sailor song always makes me want to be a tavern wench in a fantasy film😳😳

That's the one of the most if not the most well known sea shanty's .

Have a listen to other ones they're great

Lamorna and South Australia are a couple of my favourites

Back in a minute, just going to saw my ears off with a bread knife.

😂

MouseMinge · 02/12/2023 20:26

Oooh, I can't wait for the Ghost Christmas special. I only started watching last year and watched all of it a couple of months ago. I love it so much. Especially Robin.

Sunbird24 · 02/12/2023 20:26

I did ballet lessons as a child - as a middle-aged woman I wouldn’t now really class myself as having dance experience. Pretty sure I spent half the time either trying to stop my knickers from falling down, or my leotard from going up my bum. My mum must have been most disappointed as she’s been a dancer of some form all her life.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 02/12/2023 20:27

MouseMinge · 02/12/2023 20:21

What has been Ellie's considerable training? I'm not being pissy about it but I thought that she was in Emmerdale (Corrie?) from a very young age and that was it.

Tap ballet modern and a bit of street apparently. I'm not trying to take away from her, she's a natural and very talented, but even a little bit of training goes a long way and Bobby's had none at all, that's all I'm saying.

EvilRingahBitch · 02/12/2023 20:28

I thought Bobby's big lift was dodgy af, and he looked about 17 in that vest which really didn't fit the vibe of the musical.

Choux · 02/12/2023 20:29

Brunette Dianne reminded me of Teri Hatcher in her Superman era.

Of course Layton is at the other extreme but where would you suggest the line is drawn if you want evenness?

Not having someone who has performed in a west end musical. Not saying there haven't been other celebs with a lot of dance experience but I think in general I would say the same about them too

But they've had loads of celebs who've performed in west end musicals - including Nigel. I saw Les Dennis in Hairspray, it didn't do him much good! I love Layton, think he's fantastic - tonight his was the only dance I'd want to watch again.

the80sweregreat · 02/12/2023 20:30

I used to do Irish dancing and won a competition once! Many moons ago Can't dance for toffee now
Not with my feet!

CauliflowerBalti · 02/12/2023 20:30

Layton, Bobbie, Ellie then Annabel for me this week. Just on the amount I smiled during their performances. That’s the point of musical week for me. How much joy did it give me? Some really great choreography tonight and Annabel’s suffered, for me.

CauliflowerBalti · 02/12/2023 20:31

Also, there have been so many brilliant previous celebs from girl bands and boy bands. Similarly trained performers. And I do not remember this level of vitriol towards them. I love Layton.

Loveveggies · 02/12/2023 20:32

This Layton hate is really tedious and unfair. Each dancer has exploited some part of their personal life story to get votes. That's part of the game. Layton is a brilliant dancer who clearly works hard and has a self deprecating humour often misinterpreted as arrogance.

BeaLola · 02/12/2023 20:32

Annabell will get my vote next week and that ofDH - undermarked

EvilRingahBitch · 02/12/2023 20:33

I think Annabel has done a chunky amount of teen to adult ballet, like Angela R and Amanda. Should they be disqualified on account of it? No, of course not. But it's a huge step further than pretending to be fairies in village halls and grappling with the challenge of fourth position like lots of us did age 7.

Dogmatix34 · 02/12/2023 20:33

I think Layton is fab! He seems lovely and his dances are wonderful to watch.

Totally agree, he's clearly putting the work in. It's not like he's has a string of 40s either yet!

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 02/12/2023 20:34

@EvilRingahBitch
Exactly :)

So we’ll have people with more (and perhaps considerably more) experience than others to ensure that Joe Public will get some reasonably good routines, on top of the well progressed journey ones.

Just don’t vote for the more experienced ones.

Danny Mac certainly didn't!
