Loved Ellie and Vito apart (like everyone else on the thread) from the gusset-flashing at the beginning. Who the hell thought that was a good idea in that frock?

Thought Annabel's paso would have looked better without the black and white spotted underskirt. That piece of music may be authentic but it's lacking in audience appeal from the other side of the TV set. Obviously went down an absolute storm in the studio though which is odd.

Voted Nigel and Layton - I don't want to see either of them go home.

They should bring back the formation dance a la Frank & Peggy Spencer. From Penge. All couples to take part obvs, and knocking down one's neighbouring couple acceptable.

me too I hated Bobby's wafty emotional manipulation nonsense and Laytons I'll do what I like garbage. !

I'm not a rumba fan but it belongs in Strictly because it is one of core dances. The CC has never belonged because it isn't ballroom or Latin, it was bad enough when it was first introduced and it was a 'choice' of three styles but now there are no rules so there is no criteria to mark it on and it was very quickly turned into an opportunity to shoehorn in a sob story. I hate that it is regularly over marked, I hate that people's grief or pain is co-opted into 1.5 minutes of emoting in an old nightie. Even the (very occasional) good ones could have been held back to make show dances in the final.

Me neither. He’s clearly a fab dancer but we like to see “the journey”.’ I’m not sure there is with Layton or even Nigel but there is with the others

To clarify- We’ve seen far more variety with Nigel but like Layton I don’t think he’s really improved

Layton has been super showy every week which is tedious

If anyone is rewatching Ellie and Vito's dance, I strongly recommend continuing until you get to the bit in the Clauditorium just after Vito says that Ellie needed to "eat him with her eyes". The faces on Jowita, Lauren and Karen!

Bobby, Angela and Layton were the weakest dances tonight. No idea who will be in the dance off. I really dislike nan wars/ over marking CC. That’s just my view 🕊️🕊️🕊️

I think Layton had a much better frame and better footwork this week, they've clearly worked very hard at it- you could see the development since the rehearsal videos. Having said that nothing blew me away this week, all were ok. I'd like Bobby to go probs but I'm sure he'll be safe,

i don't know how they decide when to do CC it just seemed they want bobby to go far so kept it back. the whole thing was just too awful.

Agree. And then can you imagine how awful to have to do it again after bringing up your dead mother and have your brother sobbing in the audience? Awful. I hated the doll behind the screen too. But for the above reason I hope he isn't in the DO. I think Angela will be there and either Layton or Nigel.

Yes, the judges were so complimentary to Nigel for the rumba, the classic "difficult dance for the male celebrity" such great comments - and then gave him 8's! wtf

I was shouting at the tv at the injustice of that and gave him all my votes. They've been harsh on him all the way through and I'm getting really pissed off with it.

Plus Katya does an AMAZING job with choreo each week, she's awesome.

Yes I think it showed that even though he's been given difficult dances he hadnt found it that difficult to learn. Then when he is out of his comfort zone it's not all that. It didn't even look like an American Smooth.

I want Layton and Angela in the DO and don't really mind which one goes as they both were very underwhelming for me tonight. I do think the judges will save Layton each time though.

I've been playing catch up for the past few weeks but I'm finally up to date. I've watched tonight's show albeit a little later. I like watching it later because I can fast forward the rehearsal bits and just watch the dancing and the judges' comments/scoring.

My favorite dances were Ellie's and Annabel's. I really, really wish they'd let us vote here in Ireland .

I'm sorry Bobby lost his mother at such a tender age, but I think dedicating a song to someone makes it very difficult to be critical or mark it low. So for that reason, I'd rather they kept dead relatives out of the picture. I'm not singling out Bobby. I think Annabel also dedicated a song to her husband and other celebrities have done so in previous series.

If I could vote, I'd give one vote to Ellie, one to Annabel (the two best performances) and one to Angela because I'd like to see her try at least one more dance before she exits the show.

Bobby is a good dancer but he's just too young imo. He's a bit bland. And the height difference doesn't help but sure, that's not his fault.

No Jade's mum wasn't in the segment. I remember seeing something in the tabloids when Bobby was first revealed as being in Strictly that Jade's mum was upset that she apparently wasn't allowed more access to the boys. Not sure how true that is but I guess you can't blame Jeff for wanting to keep her at arm's length after the childhood Jade had.

tbf she's a total nightmare I saw something somewhere that she bought a ticket for the NTAs when he was up for his award, I can't blame Jeff from keeping her out of Bobby's limelight. jade had a shitty life.
